    Wait a minute, you drove three hundred and fifty miles over there, signed your name at the hospital, picked up a clapped-out 8yo laptop, and drove three hundred and fifty miles back, and you never looked for the family heirlooms or the two or three thousand ounces of silver coins in the corner of the back closet because his place wasn't cleaned to your standards, so you're going to let some third-party guy you don't even know haul it all away, and give you a Laurel&Hardy handshake? You know, those coins had a lot of sentimental value. What'd you keep, his old Marantz record player?

    More-full disclosure: Distance is approximate, each way. And, I never did say any of it, out loud. Out loud, it came out something like, "I have an appointment, right now, and I have to..." and he said, "Yeah, I know." He knew? There is that background click on some phone calls...

    There are relatives who are no longer welcome in our my wife's home due to the disheartening and disturbing disposition of Grandma's jewelry following the decease of the last rightful steward of them. It's like nobody ever learned the moral of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
