"Look what I have done in this lifetime, with this body," said Tina Turner, in a documentary released about her life in 2021. "I'm a girl from a cotton field, that pulled myself above what was not taught to me."

Tina Turner's life was a story of trauma and triumph - she was the star known for her energetic stage performances and her incomparable soulful, husky voice, who overcame several personal and professional struggles to become the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll.

Following her death at the age of 83, tributes have been paid to a "legend", an "icon" and a "remarkable force of nature," from fellow music stars to the White House, with clips of her biggest hits - including Proud Mary, Nutbush City Limits, The Best, We Don't Need Another Hero, and What's Love Got To Do With It - flooding social media.

Widely reported elsewhere.

Since I heard she passed I've been going through her 80's videos and I forgot how many hits she had during that wonderful time. It's part of my adolescence and early adulthood. I know little of her earlier music, but I was lucky enough to be 15 when she made her big "comeback" album. What's love got to do with it?, Private Dancer, and Better Be Good To Me (which she really nailed). Then came Mad Max Thunderdome. Then her followup album with Typical Male. Then GoldenEye. Her songs were played regularly on the radio well into the late 90s.

No one wore big hair better than her. And she had famously nice legs she showed off in a teasing & classy way, unlike the women of today who are 3/10 in appearance and their actions scream sleezy slimy fat twerking street crack whore who will do anything with an animal for only $10.

RIP Tina, thanks for your music, your hair, and your legs.
