    You got it half-right. The wars indeed are fought by the poor, but on behalf of the rich, not necessarily politicians. The overlap is great, but not total. A politician who is not a part of plutocracy has every reason to oppose the war, which is why it is imperative to nudge our political system in the direction where wealth affects the policy as little as possible.
