I thought it this would be fun everybody. I thought it might be interesting to compare desktop screenshots and see what other SoylentNews user interfaces look like. Tiling window manager or stacking? Desktop environment or not? Are you minimalist? What operating systems are you using?

Over the years I've gone back and forth between Window Maker, Openbox, and Fluxbox, and I'm in Window Maker now for the reasons you mentioned, plus it just looks better than the others. I've also always been fond of NeXT and GNUStep, and it fills that desire as well. I got tired of spending hours setting up Openbox in Slackware to be as good as Window Maker always was out of the box, and it seems that the older I get, the less time I have to devote to twiddling around.

Back in the day there was Blackbox, which was really nice. I used it for a while back in the late 90s. That begat Fluxbox and Openbox. Blackbox was better. It was less fussy,
