    Aren't the wavelengths at sunrise more or less the same as those at sunset?

      The whole "blue light" thing was always bogus. Think of how people fall asleep outside while sunbathing. All that blue light didn't stop it, same as it doesn't stop a mid-day nap on the weekend.

        Blue light filters work for me. If not because of the reasons outlined in the article, it is because they provide a warm fireplace-like feel that provides the same drowsy comfort that gets people falling asleep in the sunlight.

    I know that's what she said, but I'm colourblind, you ignorant clod!

    There's no reason to believe that the same defects that apply to other colour receptors don't apply here.

    Seriously, I wear UV blocking shades prescribed by the Montreal Association for the Blind when I'm outdoors, and even when I'm indoors if it's fluorescent lighting - just kills my eyes. I have "colour vision", but it's probably not the colours in your world.
