Way to go, New York City! All 1,200 schools in the New York City public school district will now offer a vegan hummus option every day at the beginning of this school year, thanks to The Coalition for Healthy School Food (CHSF), a non-profit that helps introduce plant-based foods into schools. Vegan options for students that are available on the school’s vegetarian menu will range from Mexicali Chili, Lentil Stew, Lentil Sloppy Joes, Braised Black Beans with Plantains, and Zesty BBQ Crunchy Tofu. These yummy meals will be on rotation for the vegetarian menus.
And this isn’t CHSF‘s first initiative to help students have access to fresh, healthy food. CHSF has worked with the city’s department of education to help three NYC schools, Active Learning Elementary School in Queens (PS244), Peck Slip School in Manhattan (PS343), and The Bergen Elementary School (PS1) in Brooklyn, to transition to an all-vegetarian menu.
How can they have any pudding if they don't eat their meat?

I went to high school in the 70s. Had a spanish class right after lunch, lunch was spent in the bushes behind the football stadium smoking weed. Got to class one day, a movie was playing. I said out loud "I hope to hell that's not focused". Turned out it wasn't focused.
Next CSB, spanish teacher was smokin hot. Turned out she was also pregnant (she was married). She did not last the semester, I wish her nothing but good vibes across 45+ years.
Next CSB, I used to sell hash in high school. Bought an ounce, cut it into fourths, sold 3 to friends and broke even. I could either smoke that last fourth or sell it.
I dropped out of high school a semester short 2 teachers talked me into finishing it, my auto shop teacher and my english teacher (English teacher made a field trip to see A Boy And His Dog, he was cool).
About a year out of high school (yeah, I graduated, albeit in December instead of June) I found out the guy I was buying my ounces of hash from was my auto shop teacher. A couple weeks later I found out his source was my english teacher.

It seems auto shop teachers have a lot in common unless it was the same one near San Diego.
