So a decent chunk of ari's submissions look like they should be rejected but his subs are rejected way too often and it is clear there is a specific bias. The two recent clickbait submissions about US demographics and hiw male managers "feel" should never have made the front page given your treatment of ari's subs.
Pure unadulterated alt-right flavored bias. Perhaps the front page format needs an update, or an optional layout chouce to group topics together. Then let most subs through unless they are truly garbage and not just ideologically objectionable to a few people.
Want this to be a community site? Then make it one! Journals are a poor excuse to maintain the "freedom of speech" badge so proudly worn around here.

We are all volunteers and work hard to ensure that you get 16 stories a day during the week, and around 10 a day at weekends. We select our stories on criteria that have been clearly stated numerous times on this site.
SoylentNews has no money. We manage to survive by donations from our members. If anything outside the normal were to occur that required significant funding the site would have to close. We are legally declared as an entity in the USA and we have to comply to US regulations where applicable. Unfortunately, this also means that we have to exist in a litigious environment. SN is responsible for everything that we publish on the Main Page or in the topics sub-divisions which includes Politics. That is why we insist for the majority of submissions that they refer to another source for the information that we are publishing. We are not claiming them as a fact, but merely reporting that some other source has published them as a fact. If anyone decides that they can make money by taking SN to court we will simply cease to exist. It will not matter whether their claim has merit - we cannot even afford to be represented in the first instance.
We realise that some people would like to discuss more contentious issues. We have managed to achieve this by creating the journals. The owners of those journals are entirely responsible for the content that they publish, and individuals are responsible for their own comments. If someone takes issue with what is said it cannot be with SoylentNews. When a story is rejected by the editors it does not disappear. The submitter can still publish it in his journal and we list the most recent journal topics on the front page.
Aristarchus' submissions have since 2016 been, in the main, anti-alt-right, although we have published over 10 of his submissions already this year. That is something that he feels strongly about. However, his tone of writing and the comments in some of his more recent submissions indicate a definite bias and, perhaps against his own efforts, he seems unable to write an unbiased and factual report as is required for all of our submissions. We have, nevertheless, published some of his stories and they have been discussed. His current submissions contain nothing new worth discussing. There may be factual events happening but the thrust of his submissions remains Alt-Right-Bad with nothing there worth discussing that has not already been discussed. In your own words, they could be viewed as being"truly garbage".
This site is never going to support one faction or another wherever they may lie in the political spectrum. Politics is sometimes relevant but it is only 1 of 12 topics that we cover on this site. And unless there is something new to be discussed then politics stories will not be a priority topic. It is interesting that nobody on the extreme left, the Green Party, or Brexit remainers/leavers are complaining that they are being 'censored', only those that want to shout down the alt-right. This is not the site for that purpose. We do not support any particular political viewpoint but it seems that a significant portion of our community would rather see anyone with whom they disagree censored while crying out that we are guilty of doing the same by not taking such an extreme stance.
If you feel that there is room on the internet for such a site you are free to download our latest source code and create your own site. I will promise to train your initial editors on how to use the editorial support software to whatever rules and limits your new site chooses to adopt.
We have given the community journals. We can give you the software. I will even train your editors for free. We cannot be any more democratic than that.

Not only is that a political topic, but it has little to no bearing for anyone on this site. I'm sure there are a few Swiss users here, but this is a very blatant appeal to the 2nd amendment folks which *surprise surprise* has a big overlap with alt-right types. I personally don't mind the story itself, but it very clearly demonstrates your bias, and you were the one that published it.
At this point I'm guessing the group of people running this site are the typical internet trolls who will repeat over and over how "fair and balanced" they are while promoting specific ideologies and shutting down things they don't like; and then laugh about it in their private safe spaces. Despicable behavior and you've finally become egregious enough that it is becoming clear.
Lack of personal responsibility, immature ideological identity politics, it is too fucking much to hear all the whinging about the very same things you engage in. We do, as you should know, publish political stories and we have covered US gun laws here several times. However, unless your reading comprehension is particular poor, you will have realised that this is not about the USA. It is about Europe, and Switzerland in particular.
It is interesting for several reasons. One, Switzerland is one of the very few countries in Europe to permit weapons to be held at home with relatively little control. Its origin comes from Switzerland's decision to be able to defend itself from any aggressors while remaining neutral. Many of the population hold weapons which have been issued by the military at the end of their service, however the holding of ammunition at home is rather more strictly controlled. Secondly, the vote has not been acrimonious, although a minority do not support the results of the vote. Thirdly, Switzerland is a neutral and independent country that does not easily bow to pressure from outside influences. The vote is the wishes of the Swiss people. Democracy is still alive.
This is not a US centric site despite it being hosted in the US. Too many of our recent members appear to be joining under the misapprehension that this is the case. It is an English speaking site and many of our staff, contributors and community are not Americans. This story is of interest to those who might have relatively little interest in the USA.
It is nothing at all to do with the US 2nd amendment. The only people who read it that way are those that want to read it that way. Americans are free to do as they wish, just as the Swiss are.
You are quite wrong - but feel free to leave us and go join another site if it suits your needs better.
Not so - it is the very reason why I am taking my time to explain to an AC why we post what we do. If you want to discuss anything outside our usual topics then sign up and use your journal.

Your submission seems a bit snarky, but with only three lines aside from the article quotes, and those a bit ambiguous, I don't see it.
Then again I haven't had to read your submissions over the past months so I may be lacking context.
It's an interesting article, actually, I'd definitely support resubmitting it in a bit of a more presentable manner. And perhaps not relying exclusively on a single source article in a language most of us can't speak. Although in this case the meat of the article is in the pictures, you could have at least translated your excerpt and given the reader a reason to click the link and see them.
