Last night, I discovered two lies about this site: (1) despite offering a "comments disabled" option for journal entries, you can't actually post one with comments disabled, and (2) TMB (or some other admin who supports him) is very likely abusing power [soylentnews.org] and not really standing for free speech..
This morning, I discovered another lie: It says you can "delete" journal entries after you post, but if you try, they aren't actually deleted. I wanted to verify my perception of what happened last night before making my accusation this morning, so I thought I'd try to do a test journal post. I then deleted it, and it asked for confirmation to delete it. But then it didn't delete anything -- hence the stupid conversation that's already begun here on a post that should no longer exist.
A week ago, I was willing to try to make this site sustainable for the long-term. Now all I'm finding is lie after lie after lie.
It seems one method of deletion works, but another doesn't. So at least now it appears my entry has been deleted. Interesting. Only a half-truth, not a complete lie this time.
Good thing TMB apparently knows the method of deletion that works.
