Action-Packed Footage Shows Royal Navy Using Iron Man-Style Jet Suits to Practice Storming Vessels:

The UK's Royal Navy has been seen practising storming potential enemy vessels with the use of real-life Iron Man-style jet suits.

With a flight time of eight minutes, the suits give the wearer the ability to fly using five mini jet engines, with four strapped to his hands and one on his back.

The jets are said to be able to reach a speed capacity of 55 mph (88.51 kph). They are also able to generate a stunning brake horsepower of 1000bhp.

#FunFactFriday - The Royal Navy has been testing Jet Suit assault teams to determine if the Iron Man-like suits could be used to rapidly swarm and board ships. U.S. Special Operations Command is also evaluating a jetpack that can reach speeds of more than 200 mph. pic.twitter.com/mo5FoGWkDu

— U.S. Naval Institute (@NavalInstitute) October 16, 2020

The action-packed footage was widely shared on the Twitter page of the US Naval Institute, showing one man clad in the suit flying through the air from a sea vessel and successfully landing on a ship, only to return back to the vessel he took off from.

Another video shows four men in jet suits "levitating" effortlessly towards a vessel, as they soar through the sky, and shaking hands to congratulate each other after accomplishing the feat.

[...] The Institute added that US Special Operations Command was currently evaluating a jet pack that could potentially "reach speeds of more than 200 mph".

You really want to be tracked by Russia too? You trust Runaway won't pick info sources to sucker you back to FoxNews and family and/or some other lunatic fringe sites? (which will at least try to track you)

A simple Google search [google.com] would have revealed safer place to read this.

Depends on how you define war. In terms of the continuing giga-expansion of american military spending, and increasing amounts of "targetted" slaughter abroad to maintain a facade of peace? No he's not anti-war. In terms of starting new stupid quagmire invasions of particular countries, you could make that case.

          Exactly correct.

He's not anti-war. He's just ever so slightly skeptical of the ruling dogma that says war is always good. He talks like he has this tiny, tiny little hint of insight that maybe SOMETIMES murdering people and destroying countries might not really be the best thing to do.

But our ruling class has become so reflexively pro-war, so automatically in favor of mass murder as a panacea, a cure-all for any and every problem, that simply showing that tiny bit of hesitation makes him /LOOK/ somewhat anti-war, by comparison.

It's utterly insane. The guy that literally admitted "we're keeping troops to guard the oil. we're keeping the oil" can be described as /anti-war/ - only because the field is so depraved, so bloodthirsty, so murderous that even this revolting thug can point at them and legitimately look good in comparison to the other Moloch worshippers.

Yeah, sadly enough we have fascists on both sides in the US in 2020. Some of the worst of them have even taken to calling themselves anti-fascist, with a nod to Goebbels one may presume. So here we are, fascists on the right, and fascists claiming to be on the left, competing to see which can out-fasc the other and generate more outrage on the other side.

It's all a game of sorts, a distraction, an exhibition for the public eye, intended to keep the proles so riled up and focused on fighting each other that they never notice who's really screwing them.

I considered getting bogged down in those details, but it made my post lose all its punch. Details aren't funny. The broadcaster of the story is the US naval institute, and if you search the internet for their name being attached to stories, they're pretty consistently "check out how cool the US military is" type propaganda stories.

Just to clarify, Sputnik News [wikipedia.org] is:

pronunciation: [ˈsputnʲɪk]; formerly Voice of Russia and RIA Novosti, naming derived from Russian Спутник) is a Russian state-owned news agency, news website platform and radio broadcast service. It was established by the Russian government-owned news agency Rossiya Segodnya on 10 November 2014.[1][2]

Since many folks here scream about linking to the the New York Times or the Washington Post, I find it interesting that no one finds it (well, aside from you, c0lo) odd to see (or even to submit) an article from Sputnik News.

I wonder how fast folks would scream bloody murder if an article from Voice of America (the *literal* American equivalent of Sputnik News) [wikipedia.org] made it to the front page?
