The FBI recovered a document describing a foreign government’s nuclear capabilities during its search of Mar-a-Lago, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

The Post, citing unnamed sources, did not identify the foreign government named in the document describing the country’s military defenses.

The content of the more than 11,000 government documents and photographs FBI agents recovered from Donald Trump’s Florida estate last month has not been revealed, but previous reporting from the Post indicated classified documents about nuclear weapons were among the items federal authorities were looking for.

As of now we've got the word of a few unnamed sources so a little grain of salt is likely warranted but c'mon, man, we all know it's true!

A decision the Department of Justice has now appealed:

DOJ appeals decision to appoint special master in Trump FBI raid document case [cnbc.com]

The Department of Justice said Thursday it is appealing a federal judge’s ruling to authorize a special master to review documents that the FBI seized from former President Donald Trump’s home Mar-a-Lago.

The move came three days after Judge Aileen Cannon approved Trump’s request for that outside watchdog to sift through the seized materials to identify personal items and records that are protected by attorney-client privilege or executive privilege.

The DOJ had opposed that request, saying it had already completed a privilege review of the documents, and that a special master could harm the government’s national security interests.

The appeal was filed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, which holds appellate jurisdiction over cases from district courts in Florida.

Just like the police do with everyone else, they are waiting to get an arrest warrant until they convene a grand jury or file a complaint. And because of Trump's political and organizational power they are waiting to convene a grand jury or file a complaint until one of two things occurs: they have overwhelming evidence or they have identified and searched the entire criminal organization to the furthest extent they believe possible. To do it any earlier is just stupid because three key things happen as soon as they arrest Trump: the clock starts ticking on the speedy trial (which drastically reduces the time to collect additional evidence), Trump can challenge the probable cause of his arrest (resulting in even more disclosure of the evidence, which is a dumb thing to do if you are still trying to figure things out), and signals to others involved just how far things have gone (resulting in attempted absconsion and destruction of evidence). In addition to that concern, the government is very aware of the repercussions of this arrest in particular, including the procedural/political optics, the erratic behavior of the defendant, and the potential of violence from Trump supporters.

As of now we've got the word of a few unnamed sources so a little grain of salt is likely warranted but c'mon, man, we all know it's true!

No we don't. I'm reminded of the hubbub surrounding police officer Brian Sicknick's death, which was advertised as being due to bludgeoning by a fire extinguisher. That story lasted until he was lying in state. Then the truth came out that he hadn't died from physical violence. We can get even older examples. For example, the "Dubya" Bush administration leaked so many lies that way. You could gauge the relative truthfulness of a statement by whether they were willing to state it publicly.

And there's a big reason why this happens: an unnamed source can't be blamed when the lie falls apart. There's no risk of accountability.

For the record, most patients I see with TCVI end up having a TIA sequela and a significant percentage have full-blown strokes. TBIs in general have to be watched carefully for sequelae such as strokes and aneurysm. In addition, the CSR itself would have exacerbated cardiovascular issues. The fact that they are now trying to pretend like this is some new and made up phenomenon to deflect blame just reeks of desperation to me.

Why can't you spell out those acronyms?
          • TBI - Traumatic Brain Injury
          • TCVI - Traumatic cerebrovascular injury
          • TIA - Transient Ischemic Attack
          • CSR - Cheyne–Stokes respiration

And then explain what you're really saying. The huge problem with this narrative BTW is that while Sicknick was assaulted, he wasn't bludgeoned [cnn.com].

According to one law enforcement official, medical examiners did not find signs that the officer [Sicknick] sustained any blunt force trauma, so investigators believe that early reports that he was fatally struck by a fire extinguisher are not true.

No blunt force trauma - no traumatic brain injury (that "TBI"). Alternate explanations quickly run into legal obstacles to any sort of murder charge - such as the mere stress of being a police officer in a mass protest could have been enough to do Sicknick in with that acronym soup. If you can't prove that a given action contributed, then you're stuck.

The medical examiners had not found any signs of blunt force trauma, but a stroke can follow a traumatic situation, several experts told CNN.

Who should we believe? The guy on the internet that still doesn't know what CSR stands for despite attempting to look it up or the real experts that talked to CNN? [cnn.com] and the autopsy doctor who said "all that transpired played a role in his condition” instead? Even without TBI (which I hadn't heard until your article, BTW), there is plenty there to say what he went through probably hastened his death. Without the autopsy report and due to the complexity of the human organism, it probably won't ever get to beyond a reasonable doubt to prove two people in particular cause his death. But you have to be completely daft to act as though it had nothing to do with it.

I wonder why he is using ari's email addresses to create all these false accounts? He couldn't activate the accounts you think he is creating if that was actually the case. Or, perhaps there is another, more logical, explanation.....

Once again, janrinok breaches user confidentiality to fight back against the hordes of aristarchoi that infest his brain. If it were me, I would use an ari email if I were Runaway, for extra ammosexual juice. But seeing how only those with admin privileges, and the sacred trust that implies, have access to such information, the whole question is moot. Or, it was.

janrinok breaches user confidentiality [...] If it were me, I would use an ari email if I were Runaway,

In what way? I know who is creating those accounts. You know who is creating those accounts. And both of us know it wasn't Runaway. How would Runaway know your email addresses? We don't publish them. So unless you have told him, you are clearly lying.

Now, what confidential information have I given out? I haven't divulged who is actually creating those accounts. I haven't divulged the email addresses. I haven't given away any personal details.

But I do know who is the only account to ever use this IP hash before. Only one account has ever used this hash to contact SN in over 8 years. There is no confusion, no collision of hash numbers - they were all logged in accesses. Now if you want to continue this charade I can reveal the account name - because it doesn't provide any personal information whatsoever. Anyone can look up all of the account names. In fact, you have openly used it on IRC and admitted that it is one of yours. You recently claimed that information that has been released by the individual concerned is NOT a compromise of personal data. How would you like to test your claim now? I have lots of account names that you personally have already compromised. By your logic they are all fair game.

You are struggling to justify why you continue to post on this site. Nobody cares. You are not important to its survival. You are not defending anyone's rights. You are simply a Troll.

Runaway could limit comments to his journal entries to "friends", but he has no friends, other than Ethanol_fueled, who just popped into IRC to spew a bunch of Nazi anti-semitism that Runaway did not disagree with. No, by not allowing AC postings, Runaway is hiding under the skirts of janrinok, who has censored all the members who call out right-wing nutjobs like Runaway, and Eth, and VLM, and chromas. By dis-allowing ACs, Runaway is benefiting from the janrinok system-wide banning of true ACs, so that he can identify every comment on SN, and take actions to ban, discombuberate, or censor any given Soylentil.

Of course, the flaw in the plan is that there are plenty of reasonable logged-in Soylentils who will still call Runaway on his Trumpist racism and misogyny, and general assholerry, so he is still getting spanked hard in his own journal.

Seems like the Former Guy is going to DC. No one knows why, but there are some ideas. https://www.rawstory.com/trump-unannounced-trip-washington-dc/ [rawstory.com]

Comedian Betty Bowers suggested that Trump being away from his country club in New Jersey is the perfect time for the FBI to conduct a search warrant for documents he may have taken there.

Steve Janoski of the North Jersey Media Group is hoping that Trump's arrival in Washington means it's finally Infrastructure Week.

Others joked perhaps he had more documents to move, this time to his Virginia golf course. Another posed he was heading to his indictment appointment or skipping the country. A self-described biotech veteran and software designer predicted that Trump was in Washington to announce his long-awaited healthcare plan.

Lawyer George Conway noted that it hasn't been "golf weather" in the area lately. It's scheduled to continue raining on Monday after drizzling most of Sunday. Conway explained: "It’s been arraigning — I mean, raining."

This is what real Republican power looks like, people!

Memphis writer Steve Ross suggested it was an indictment under seal. Dr. Mary Trump dismissed myths that an indictment would be too divisive while speaking to MSNBC on Sunday.

"Fear the Walking Dead" actor Mo Collins was curious if there were nuclear secrets that had to be surgically removed from him at Walter Reed.

Trump swallowed the "football"? Not surprised.

Investigators see ego, not money, as Trump’s motive on classified papers

Federal agents and prosecutors have come to believe former president Donald Trump’s motive for allegedly taking and keeping classified documents was largely his ego and a desire to hold on to the materials as trophies or mementos, according to people familiar with the matter.

As part of the investigation, federal authorities reviewed the classified documents that were recovered from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home and private club, looking to see if the types of information contained in them pointed to any kind of pattern or similarities, according to these people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

That review has not found any apparent business advantage to the types of classified information in Trump’s possession, these people said. FBI interviews with witnesses so far, they said, also do not point to any nefarious effort by Trump to leverage, sell or use the government secrets. Instead, the former president seemed motivated by a more basic desire not to give up what he believed was his property, these people said.
