It's pretty damn transparent to me as to what you're advocating. You want the Democrats to kill the filibuster precisely because when power inevitably shifts to the GOP they won't be constrained by any Democrat filibusters anymore. Then you can blame Democrats for killing it! Genius!

Much less likely to happen if the dems actually opposed them, and didn't disappoint their voters at every turn. With the republicans, compromise is surrender and complicity, so the dems can either fight back or fuck off... Their acquiescence is to blame for republican victories. Yes, but cmdrklarg's argument doesn't make sense. He's worried that if the Dems kill the filibuster, then when the Reps get a majority they can just ram all the bills they want through. But they can only do that if they have a majority, and if they have a majority then they can just kill the filibuster anyway.
The only thing keeping the filibuster does is hamstring the Dems current slight majority.

What the filibuster does is to provide an excuse and the ability to blame the other side. That is their game. That's why the dems won't touch it, and they don't like it when the subject comes up, so they hand wave, and here they moderate. Such repulsive behavior does not win votes
