I had been toying with the idea of actually opening up the unfwics repository to the public this Fall, and announcing that here (unfwics is my hobby programming language that allows free mixing of post, pre and infix expressions). When the closing was announced, it didn't take me very long to decide that throwing it out there before it's ready isn't what I wan to do. I'm just starting on the C-translater, I still find serious bugs most days, and while the desired release feature list is smaller it's still there.
I just popped over Lambda the Ultimate and while I still might make the initial release announcement there, I won't be happy if that's it. The problem with LtU is that it's *too* specific. The beauty of a community like SN is that it's a place where many people will be interested in programming languages, and perhaps even educated about them like LtU users, but it's not the only thing we discuss. I get why LtU is this way, and I respect that. I also get why they have a "use your real name" culture, and I respect that too but I also hate it.
In the mean time I have a home page again after all these years. While most of us agree that over-design is bad, I think I just demonstrated that under-design can be bad too. I'll fix that eventually.
