Just when you thought the news couldn't get any more ridiculous ...
A company in North Korea has developed a cure for everything. North Korea's state-run news agency is reporting that Kumdang-2, a type of ginseng grown in "rare-earth molecular fertilizer" can "prevent different malignant epidemics."
The story was picked up in South Korea, which is currently experiencing a deadly outbreak of MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), which the makers of Kumdang-2 claim it can cure.
According to this website, just a simple injection of this compound can cure a vast array of diseases:

Why don't say westerners support magic water because some western companies selling homeopathic 'medicine'
How about westerners think apricot kernals can cure cancer - sold in health food stores as a miracle cure!
How about colloidal silver - another miracle cure that is claimed to be much better than those nasty industrial antibiotics (also sold in health food stores)
How about different pain killers for different pains that have exactly the same active ingredient.
Denouncing an entire country because of one slime ball company that is doing the same as shitloads of companies around the world is plain racism

Probably not racism, just money. NK doesn't have much in the way of lobbiests, advocacy groups, lawyers, or PR spokespersons to generate a shitstorm on their behalf. Therefore, it's safe for corporate media to mock them.
Of course, TPTB may have other reasons for encouraging this sort of thing too (of the "We've always been at war with Eastasia" variety)

It makes the news because it's hilarious.
It's not racist in the least. Koreans are great! The North Korean government is ridiculous though. They're fair game. Unfortunately, no information leaves NK unless the government approves it, and therefore it should be rightful to assume that the NK government wholeheartedly endorses this new miracle ginseng! Hurrah!

You make a very good point. If everyone in the world adopted the one-meal-a-day program we would all be better off. Who are we to judge their health knowledge.
