"Humans" is a British-American series based on a Swedish series called "Äkta människor" (Real Humans). Sense8 is a Netflix series available in English, French, German, and Spanish (both dubbed and subtitled).
I'm an American, and I get American TV, but honestly I haven't heard of the others either.
Yes, they are all basically brand new. I posted the poll and I haven't heard of most of them either. I just looked on Meta-Critic for recent Sci-Fi series and tried to find ones that were actually airing.
The goal is to find out if any are worth watching.
Also, "recently" was the improved wording for the joke option that I though of immediately after I hit submit.
And Killjoys and Dark Matter are both Canadian. We're starting to see an explosion of Canadian sci-fi ever since Continuum, and doing a pretty decent job of it, IMO. I've only started watching Killjoys, but Dark Matter is pretty good and Continuum is awesome (only 6 episodes left forever! :'( ) It throws me every time they mention that they are in Vancouver and I'm like "Whoa! I forgot this was Canadian!" because of how good it is.
Stargate, Andromeda, Lexx, Battlestar, Fringe, The Dresden Files, Warehouse 13, etc., etc. were all Canadian sci fi [wikipedia.org]/fantasy. They've been doing it for ages.

"I just spent the last hour telling you to think for yourself! Didn't you hear anything I said?"
Filmed in Canada and produced BY Canada are two different things. Two of your examples were joint American/Canadian ventures, but the ones I'm talking about are actually made by just Canada, showing we can make good stuff on our own.

Ugh, continuum has become so random and unfocused that I stopped watching out of not caring anymore. When Curtis showed up in Dark Matter I just assumed continuum was dead and gone.

He's also a major guest star in The Strain, playing as the son of the 'public face of the villain''s ex butler.
I've seen him guest starring in at least one or two other shows from this season too.
