I bought the humble bundle hacking books on sale for myself for Christmas because I'm tired of knowing enough to possibly get myself in trouble but not enough to stay out of trouble.

Some interesting reading, so far.

I have nothing against capitalism: what we seem to have nowadays is Corruptism.

Corruptism is the collecting of wealth no matter who or what.
Need another dollar? Bribe a politician to make the laws favour corporations over people.
Need ANOTHER dollar? Cut wages and hours.
Need ANOTHER dollar? Layoffs.

It use to be that employers made, what, 400X what their employees made? Now an employee has to work 2-3 jobs just to live while the 'boss' feeds the pork to make ONE MORE DOLLAR!

A little more kindness would see us in a better world.
I'd like to see politicians start thinking of the people who voted for them.

Lets get back to basic Capitalism: Corruptism is not working.

My daughter was telling me about an app that day-cares and schools use to send photos of kids to 'helicopter' and panic parents and I tried explaining why that was a security issue:

We've registered our son (despite my mis-givings) with the police as moderate to severely autistic, non-verbal, with slight cerebral palsy BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT THINGS LIKE THIS to happen to him (as well as for other reasons, explained below).

The police in Canada seem to be much better trained (or more patient) than in the States, but we don't want anything going wrong for him in any encounters.
He is rarely out of our sight or hearing and we got him a Medic-Alert tag for his running shoes that can point police to his info (supposedly, they are trained to look for tags like this), but registered him with the local police to let them have INSTANT info if he ever did go missing (they won't have to wait for us to get them pictures and info: they will be able to access it from their site).
They will know his name, any nick-names he will respond (possibly) to, how he might react to them, how to get calm him down, that he will probably want to be hugged, etc.

We want him to be trouble free if found by the police (the school has let him run a couple of times but have always caught up to him eventually.... so far).

But what happened in the video above is disgusting. He sprays water at them and they taze him over and over and over and over????
WTF?

If that happened to our son, they would be seeing a VERY expensive court case and disciplinary actions and HELL FIRE RAINED DOWN ON THEM and have their asses plugged with cement if possible.

My daughter just went to a Drag(on) party (sp???):

literally a pre-wedding party for two guys (and there was a stage drag theater contest).
My questions (being an old guy trying to fit into a new world)

1. Is it husband and wife or husband and husband (wife and wife for lesbians)?
2. Why do people do drag? and why don't they dress that way all the time if they like doing it so much?
3. I knew a 'flaming homo' in Toronto (did not know him well enough to ask questions like this): why do some guys act straight and some so feminine to outright flaming in yo' face?

Will probably remember some other questions later... does anyone have a primer?

Honestly asking.... this is all new to the guy who grew up (small town) saying "Ha...you're a homo!" without really knowing what that meant (when told about a 'circle jerk' i wondered why a bunch of guys would want to do that while thinking about women, lol).

**A side thought:
In the future there WILL be sex bots:

I've been given an old XP pc and have put (X)ubuntu on it in order to get a web-server running with the goal being to let family members sign in and download TV shows/movies/etc.

Have set it up according to a couple of sites (a mix of Ubuntu/apache etc sites) and am using ngrok to open up a tunnel (with the end goal being once it's running and accessible, i will go for the $5/mnth for the permanent address).

Have apache/mysql/php working (this is NEW territory for me, but i THINK it is working correctly) and have ngrok running, but i cannot connect from an external device (my tablet).

I THINK the problem is with firewall (ufw on ubuntu and the router firewall): have tried to get port 80 accessible through both , have allowed access through the router firewall for the web-server: my next plan is to completely stop ufw on the pc and just allow the router to run things.

Does anyone have advice/tips/help?

Gotta be at least a couple people familiar with running a web site around here :)
