THOMSON, Ga. - Upson County Sheriff's deputies said a hand-held massager that resembled a gun prompted a lockdown at all schools in Upson County.
Deputies reported that the incident occurred on Tuesday around 11:50 a.m. when a parent dialed 911 stating their child saw another student with a handgun while in the boy's restroom at school.
Authorities were able to notify school staff, which caused the entire school district to be placed on lockdown.
"Through investigation, it was found that a male student had a hand-held massager that resembled a handgun. The student in possession of the massager admitted that he possessed it in the restroom and pointed it at another student," Thomson-Upson County officials said.
There were no injuries reported.

I certainly hope this little sex terrorist is dealt with appropriately!! He probably intended to lure females into the boy's room where he would force himself upon them! /sarcasm
At least he didn't intend for anyone to consume his weapon of mass enjoyment. https://reason.com/2016/06/16/judge-upholds-suspension-of-the-pop-tart/
A random post by some AC provided a link to a video https://twitter.com/i/status/1553709678089146368
That video was interesting, but doesn't really provide details, so a search led me to Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb1MVFDy_tw
This incorporates elements of George Floyd, and many other infamous police interactions with citizens. "I can't breathe" "I have a medical condition" "My wife is pregnant" "I'm a federal agent", and maybe best of all, when ordered to get on the ground, "It ain't happening!" SURPRISE!! IT HAPPENED!
News2Share has obtained previously unreleased footage of a July 7, 2020 incident in which ATF Agent James Burk attempted to make contact with a member of the Columbus, Ohio community, who then called 911.
When Columbus PD officers Joseph Fihe and Kevin Winchell arrived, Agent Burk did not comply with their commands, even at gunpoint. The officers tased Agent Burk in the process of subduing him.
Agent Burk - who in 2015 was charged with shoplifting wine from a Kroger grocery story - is now suing the officers for excessive force.

DEERFIELD TWP., Ohio – A federal agent is charged with stealing wine from a Kroger store after employees grew suspicious and alerted authorities.
Police say ATF agent James Burk took expensive wine to the self-checkout lane and charged himself a small percent of the cost.
Burk was charged by the Warren County Sheriff's Office for stealing more than $200 in wine from the Landen Kroger.
According to deputies, they caught Burk going to the self-checkout in August and paying $19 for four bottles of wine that had a total price tag of $222.
The report says Burk bought bottles of Stag's Leap Wine priced at $62.99 and $33.99, but the code he entered charged him only $4.99.
According to the report, Kroger employees had grown suspicious of Burk and began watching him. They said he did the same thing multiple times.

When Feds Think They Are Above The Law
Throughout the entire encounter, Burk screamed multiple excuses as to why he should not be treated the way the Feds treat regular people every day.
And, none of the above addresses the issue of ATF agents knocking on doors, demanding to see your weapons, without a warrant. Similar instances have been documented around the country, but in most cases the agents are cooperating with local or state cops in uniform, as opposed to showing up in civilian clothes, claiming to be a federal agent.
Agent Burk is an embarrassment to any non-Nazi, non-fascist law enforcement agency.
DC requests National Guard help with busloads of migrants
The crisis began in spring when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced plans to send busloads of migrants to Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON: The District of Columbia has requested National Guard assistance to help stem a “growing humanitarian crisis” prompted by thousands of migrants that have been sent to Washington by a pair of southern states.
Mayor Muriel Bowser formally asked the White House last week for an open-ended deployment of 150 National Guard members per day as well as “suitable federal location” for a mass housing and processing center, mentioning the D.C. Armory as a logical candidate. She met on July 21 with Liz Sherwood-Randall, assistant to the president for homeland security, and Julie Chavez Rodriguez, director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. The crisis began in spring when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced plans to send busloads of migrants to Washington, D.C., in response to President Joe Biden’s decision to lift a pandemic-era emergency health order that restricted migrant entry numbers.
Since then the city estimates that nearly 200 buses have arrived, delivering more than 4,000 migrants to Union Station, often with no resources and no clue what to do next.
A coalition of local charitable groups has been working to feed and shelter the migrants, aided by a $1 million grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. But organizers have been warning that both their resources and personnel were nearing exhaustion.
“This reliance on NGOs is not working and is unsustainable — they are overwhelmed and underfunded,” Bowser said in her letter. She has repeatedly stated that the influx was stressing her government’s ability to care for its own homeless residents and required intervention from Biden’s government.
“We know we have a federal issue that demands a federal response,” Bowser said at a July 18 press conference.
In her letter, Bowser harshly criticizes Abbott and Ducey, accusing them of “cruel political gamesmanship” and saying the pair had “decided to use desperate people to score political points.”
Bowser does not have the authority to personally order a National Guard deployment, an issue that has become emotionally charged in recent years as a symbol of the district’s entrenched status as less than a state.
Her limited authority played a role in the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the Capitol building by supporters of former President Donald Trump. When it became clear that the US Capitol Police were overmatched by the crowds, Bowser couldn’t immediately deploy the district guard. Instead, crucial time was lost while the request was considered inside the Pentagon, and protesters rampaged through the building.

Surge-the-Border Joe hasn't commented, apparently.
Abbot and Ducey are doing the right thing here. Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the rest of Washington created this problem. It's best to move the problem to Washington, so Washington can deal with it.
The governors need to increase the pressure. About 100 busloads of "migrants" need to be dumped in Washington, D.C. daily. Meaning, the governors need about 600 or 700 buses at their disposal, more if they can get them.
It would be even better if some buses could be diverted to Sleepy Creepy Joe's "home town" of Wilmington, Delaware. Busloads could also be diverted to the hometowns of all the other creepy liberal politicians who refuse to address the border crisis.
There's no reason the southern border states should be absorbing millions of invaders, while Washington and it's various parasites get a free ride!
Operation Wetback took place before I was even born. I'm an old man now. Meaning, two generations of congress critter parasites have been kicking the can down the road. It is long past time for Washington to understand the tragic consequences of their inaction.
Shut the fucking border down! Get control of the drug smuggling, the human trafficking, and all the rest of the human misery flowing across the border.
If some of those illegals rape and kill a congress critter's daughter, instead of some unknown woman in Texas, or Colorado, or New Mexico, how long do you think it would take to get things under control? No one cares about an unknown 9 year old girl being raped by an illegal alien in Ohio, until that girl can be used for political gain, right?

Of course, the poll that really matters won't be done until November. Expect some sweeping changes then.
Pope derides Biden's abortion views, Catholic self-identity as 'incoherence'
Pope Francis said the president should check his conscience and consult his bishop or parish priest.
Pope Francis questioned President Biden's conscience on Tuesday in an interview during which he described the commander-in-chief's religious identity and views on abortion as incoherent.
"A month after conception, the DNA of the fetus is already there and the organs are aligned. There is human life," the pontiff said in the interview with Spanish-language outlet Univision.
Asked about Biden — a self-professed "devout Catholic" who supports blanket legalization of abortion on the federal level — the pope dismissed the president as incomprehensible.
"A month after conception, the DNA of the fetus is already there and the organs are aligned. There is human life," the pope said in the Univision interview. "Is it just to eliminate a human life?"
He added that Biden should instead question his own conscience and consult with his bishop.
"I leave it to [President Biden's] conscience and that he speaks to his bishop, his pastor, his parish priest about that incoherence," the pope remarked.
The pope has been hesitant to directly meddle in politics since the beginning of his papacy — afraid to devolve the Holy See into a normal, secular world power.
Instead, Pope Francis has taken a more pastoral role via his encyclicals and apostolic journeys — many historic in content.
The Holy Father is currently finishing preparations for a trip to Canada, after which he has committed to visiting the war-torn Ukraine. The first-ever apostolic journey to Moscow is also currently being discussed, should Russian authorities allow the visit.
Pope Francis's resistance to handing down orders to leaders of other nations is not a new concept.
According to Catholic Canon Law, bishops are the final governing authority in their diocese unless the pope personally intervenes.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains, "A diocesan bishop in the diocese entrusted to him has all ordinary, proper, and immediate power which is required for the exercise of his pastoral function except for cases which the law or a decree of the Supreme Pontiff reserves to the supreme authority or to another ecclesiastical authority."
The office of bishop comes with extensive responsibilities and powers. Perhaps most prominent is the bishop's responsibility for the pastoral care of Catholics and ex-Catholics in his jurisdiction.
According to canon law, "A diocesan bishop, frequently preaching in person, is bound to propose and explain to the faithful the truths of the faith which are to be believed and applied to morals."
Canon law continues, "He is also to take care that the prescripts of the canons on the ministry of the word, especially those on the homily and catechetical instruction, are carefully observed so that the whole Christian doctrine is handed on to all."
However, the pope may not see the canonical corrections he desires for Biden without intervening — Biden and his family attend Holy Spirit Church in the Archdiocese of Washington, DC.
The archdiocese is overseen by Cardinal Wilton Gregory, who has gone on record saying that he would not excommunicate a politician for defending abortion rights.
The cardinal has been so averse to addressing the issue further that his office accidentally let slip that they are "ignoring" questions from the media.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., mistakenly emailed a reporter seeking comment on its position regarding the San Francisco archbishop's decision to bar House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., from receiving Holy Communion due to her stance on abortion after Pelosi reportedly took Communion in D.C. on Sunday.
"Just sharing for you to know what comes in," the email stated. "Email since Saturday, when I last checked the comms inbox has just been a couple of random people wanting to tell the Cardinal to bring down the hammer on Pelosi. Aside from Jack Jenkins at RNS, this is the only new media inquiry. It will be ignored, too."
Speaking about the responsibility of running one of the world's oldest living institutions and the politics that come with it, the pontiff was open about his exhaustion.
"The Holy Spirit gives you many fruits, but no one ever talks about the things that make you numb," the pope lamented. "And sometimes, you feel you are numb in the face of situations that should make you suffer greatly and make you move, without missing the opportunity".
I'm no fan of the Catholic church. I'm no fan of the pope. There isn't a lot that I like about Catholicism. But, it's long overdue for the church to call out it's hypocrites.
You cannot be a "devout Catholic", while advocating for abortion on demand. Democrats who try to do so are on par with the Republicans who voted against gay rights, then went to not-very-discrete locations to engage in homosexual relations.
Oh yeah, you can't be a "devout Catholic" and advocate for gay rights, gay marriage, gay adoption, either.
Wouldn't it be great if voters could key in on hypocritical lies told by politicians, and vote every hypocrite out of office? Both Biden and Pelosi would have been run out of Washington decades ago. Scores of others would have gone with them, from both sides of the aisle.
Videos, plural. The funeral home had it's own surveillance, the school has theirs. I've watched ~8 minutes at this point. There are six cops on scene, in the hallway, at this point, roughly 3 minutes after the shooter entered the building. B8:50, more cops are entering the building from the far end of the hallway . . . at about 9:00 six shots are fired from the classroom, with no indication of what direction those shots were aimed. Every cop runs like a scared rabbit, despite the fact they are armed with at least equal firepower. I'm failing to keep real good track, but at least two cops are armed with what appear to be AR-15s, several others armed with pistols. Most, but not all, are wearing body armor, which should give them an edge on the shooter in addition to training (cough) and discipline (cough).
Watch the video for yourself, or not. At least six cowardly officers were on site in plenty of time to save some lives, and they ran like rabbits when they should have been going forward.
Can hear someone talking, presumably cops talking on radios, but I can't understand any of it. Sporadic gunfire continues, and the clowns in uniform cower at the end of the hallway. A fat cop keeps working his nerve up to get closer, his courage fails, and he returns to the end of the hallway, repeatedly. It's obvious they want the shooter to walk out into the hallway, presenting a nice, easy target, that doesn't put them at risk. Fat cop keeps rubbing his head, it's impossible to say, but he may have caught a bit of shrapnel when the shooter was firing earlier.
The video is a little distorted, I think it's a fisheye lens, distortion isn't real bad, but it's hard to judge distance. It appears that the cops hover about 40 to 50 feet from the classroom. Could be closer than that, but no matter what, they're afraid to be caught away from cover. All that can be seen of the cops at the far end of the hallway are legs, below the knees, they walk into sight, and back out of sight. Could be two cops, or it could be 20.
Perhaps there is another video that gives a clearer view of that classroom dooe - from what I've seen, you cannot possibly tell if anyone actually tried to open that door - cops were close enough at one point, before they ran away.
About 23 minutes in, a couple of new faces come on screen in different uniforms - I think they may be border patrol. Maybe not - they join the cluster, and don't do anything. They're being briefed, I think . . . Then nothing happens, and nothing happens, and nothing happesn - people shuffle around, they eventually get brave enough to go close to the clasroom again . . . at one point, I think 20 people are in view . . .
At an hour 22 minutes, there is finally some activity in front of the classroom, a barrage of fire, then someone carries an injured or dead child out the door, and everyone mills around aimlessly again, before the video ends.
I fast forwarded repeatedly. If I could understand that talk, I'd take the time to actually watch it all.
One total clusterfuck, and that supposed on-scene leader should be shot. Again and again, he just gets in the way of anyone who appears to be ready to make a move.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3poHE3nOb8
I don't think anyone in the video did one thing right, until the very end, when the border patrol finally arrived and busted in on the party. If you decide you don't want to watch it, you really won't miss anything. All the commentary branding the cops as cowards appears to be exactly right.
California Senate Elects To Not Change 'Involuntary Servitude' Amendment
The proposed measure would have elevated California prisoner pay to $ 15 an hour and given worker protections.A proposed amendment in California’s constitution that would outlaw involuntary servitude as a punishment for crime failed to pass the state senate. As the Associated Press notes, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration argued that paying prisoners a $15-per-hour minimum wage would cost taxpayers billions. Currently, prisoners can make as low as 8 cents an hour.
While the 13th Amendment outlaws slavery, California law allows involuntary servitude to punish someone for a crime. Inmates lack the same protections regular workers have regarding minimum wage and benefits. Prisons can also enforce discipline for refusing to work, including reduced privileges like limits on visits, telephone calls, and time out of their cells.
Assemblymember, now state Senator Sydney Kamlager introduced the “ Assembly Constitutional Amendment 3 (ACA 3), the California Abolition Act, in 2020. The state assembly passed the amendment with a 59-0 vote in March. As Kamlager notes, she ran out of time and supporters when the amendment fell seven votes short of the two-thirds margin it needed in the Senate. Voters in states like Louisiana, Oregon, and Tennessee will decide on similar provisions in the November elections.
From the Associated Press:
“One of the challenges we’ve had is people are conflating policy with a moral argument about taking out words that are historical, that are loaded, that are remnants of a slave past and that were implemented in ways that made people less human,” Kamlager said in an interview.
The American Civil Liberties released a report calling for incarcerated workers to be paid fairly, adequately trained, and able to gain transferable skills. Former California State Prison inmate Samual Brown had to clean and disinfect prison cells during the height of the pandemic even while having asthma. While serving a 24-year attempted murder conviction, Brown worked several jobs, including porter, dishwasher, and hospital janitor, paying .75 cents an hour.
As his comments to Cal Matters show, he could not change his job despite his medical condition.
“They have various ways they force you,” said Brown, who was released this year from California State Prison in Los Angeles County. “This includes stripping you of your phone rights, stripping you of your visitation rights, stripping you of your ability to order personal food.”
And, Cameltoe Harris was perfectly happy in California, defying orders to free the slaves.
Outside the Supreme Court on the day Roe v Wade is overturned, a blue-haired protester is shouting through a megaphone, “I’m atheist and I’m pro-life!” Dressed in a crop top, a bright blue kerchief and a bucket hat decorated with a badge that reads “They/them”, Anastasia Rogers isn’t your average anti-abortion protester.
“For me, it’s just a human rights issue,” says Rogers, who identifies as non-binary. “Like for me, I’m also plant-based. I have a vegan diet, I advocate for animals, and I just feel like every single being has a right to life, no matter how small they are. And if I think it’s wrong to eat eggs because they kill baby chicks... then why would I not think that it’s wrong to kill a baby human?”
Rogers describes themselves as a 29-year-old, San Francisco-based “member of the LGBT community”. Resting from the hot Washington sun under the shade of a tree outside the Supreme Court, they describe how they were on vacation in Florida when they heard the news about Roe v Wade.
“I actually bought a last-minute flight [to DC] as soon as the decision happened,” they say, adding that they wanted “just to come with my friends, celebrate and support”.
“I think a lot of people think pro-lifers are all far-right, conservative old white guys. And, I mean, I have blue hair, I’m pansexual, I’m intersex, I’m non-binary. I have a lot of very left-leaning beliefs and I feel like I’m pro-life for all of life. I feel like in any situation, my views are that everyone should have the right to live, and to pretty much do whatever they want as long as they’re not harming someone else.”
Rogers is far from the only left-leaning protester out to celebrate the ruling that will now take away American women’s constitutional right to abortion care. Jostling alongside the evangelical Christians and the far-right agitators – such as well-known conspiracy theorist Jacob Wohl, who spends his time here shouting at protesting women that they should “go home, back to the kitchen” – is a group of young women from Democrats for Life of America, an anti-abortion group for Democratic voters, whose placards (reading “Pro-life for the whole of life”) are decorated with rainbow flags.
