JUDGMENT Signed by District Judge Linda V. Parker. (AFla) (Entered: 12/02/2021)

Plaintiffs initiated this action on November 25, 2020. (ECF No. 1.) Their claims were subsequently dismissed either voluntarily (ECF Nos. 86-91) or by leave of Court (ECF No. 149). Defendants and the Intervenor-Defendants filed motions for sanctions. On August 25, 2021, the Court granted the motions filed by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and the City of Detroit and granted in part and denied in part the motion filed by Robert Davis. Accordingly,

IT IS ORDERED that Plaintiffs’ counsel, jointly and severally, shall pay attorneys’ fees in the amount of $21,964.75 to Defendants Gretchen Whitmer and Jocelyn Benson;

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Plaintiffs’ counsel, jointly and severally, shall pay attorneys’ fees in the amount of $153,285.62 to Intervenor-Defendant City of Detroit;

The public and other individuals should not have to pay for the costs of this election fraud nonsense which has no evidence nor any basis in fact. If it did, they would have shown some.

(oh, but Mike Lindell . . . yeah, right.)

Waukesha Christmas parade rampage driver feels demonized

In first interview from jail, suspect accused of killing 6 in Wisconsin parade rampage says he feels ‘demonized’

Darrell Brooks Jr. had spent 10 days locked up in the Waukesha County Jail after allegedly plowing through a crowd of people during a Wisconsin Christmas parade, killing six and injuring dozens more.

As Brooks was held in jail, he was causing a whirlwind outside its walls. His name and mug shot were beamed to screens across the country. A court official called the accusations against him “shocking” and said his criminal record was “extraordinary.” One of his ex-girlfriends described what he allegedly did as “a monstrous act … completely irredeemable.”

On Wednesday, Brooks broke his silence.

“I just feel like I’m being [made out to be a] monster — demonized” and “dehumanized,” he told Fox News Digital.

Waukesha Christmas parade suspect: I'm being treated like a 'monster'

MILWAUKEE — In his first jailhouse interview since being taken into custody, Darrell Brooks Jr. said he believes he is being "demonized" and treated like a "monster" after police say he mowed down at least 60 people, killing six, during the Waukesha Christmas parade last month.

If the shoe fits . . .

It is reminiscent of "we were just trying to do a coup and overturn a peaceful election and the police were mean to us!"

Biden nearly ended the drone war, and nobody noticed

Our infamous drone war has largely faded from the headlines. Aside from one strike that went horribly wrong during the U.S. evacuation from Afghanistan, there has been vanishingly little coverage of what's going on with the signature American tactic of the war on terror: remote-controlled death robots.

So I was rather taken aback to discover President Biden has almost totally halted drone strikes, and airstrikes in general, around the world. It's a remarkable foreign policy reform, but also a remarkable failure of both government communication and media coverage. A hugely significant change in foreign policy has happened — and almost nobody is paying attention.

Immediately after taking office, he set up a new system requiring White House approval for any strikes outside of active war zones (and later published Trump's loose rules that enabled so many civilian massacres). Now that the occupation of Afghanistan is over, that requirement applies almost everywhere, and it appears Biden is extremely reluctant to grant approval. Where Trump oversaw more than 1,600 air and artillery strikes in Iraq and Syria during his first 11 months in office, Airwars reports just four during Biden's term so far. Strikes in Somalia fell from roughly 75 last year to fewer than 10 this year, with no civilian casualties. And in Yemen, the annual total dropped from about 18 to maybe four, with fewer than 10 casualties of any kind. (Precise figures are unclear because some strikes are classified.)

This drastic reduction in airstrikes, like Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan, was genuinely politically courageous and morally correct (though both fell short of a full imperial rollback). Some well-earned bragging is in order.

Remember this ancient SN article from Oct 26:
Trump Given 30 Days for Social Media Site to Comply with Open Source License

In it, we learn't:
Trump Given 30 Days for Social Media Site to Comply with Open Source License

In a nutshell, the open source Mastodon project gave Trump 30 days to comply with open source license.

Mastodon issues 30-day ultimatum to Trump’s social network over misuse of its code

"In a post to the Mastodon blog, founder and CEO Eugen Rochko explained that the problem is not simply that Truth Social uses Mastodon, but that it does so while claiming ownership over the site’s code"

I think the next step would be for Mastodon to give Trump another 30 days, order them to comply, and add the words: "or else!". Surely Trump would then comply with the open source license.

The Xi Variant

The W.H.O. skips forward two Greek letters, avoiding a Xi variant.

When the World Health Organization began to name the emerging variants of the coronavirus, officials turned to the Greek alphabet to make it easier for the public to understand the evolution: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and so on.

Now the alphabet has created its own political headache. When it came time to name the potentially dangerous new variant that has emerged in southern Africa, the next letter in alphabetical order was Nu, which officials thought would be too easily confused with “new.”

The letter after that was even more complicated: Xi, a name that in its transliteration, though not its pronunciation, happens to belong to the leader of China, Xi Jinping. So they skipped both and named the new variant Omicron.

“‘Nu’ is too easily confounded with ‘new,’ and ‘Xi’ was not used because it is a common last name,” a spokesman, Tarik Jasarevic, said on Saturday in an emailed response to questions about skipping the two letters.

The organization’s policy, he went on, requires “avoiding causing offense to any cultural, social, national, regional, professional, or ethnic groups.”

JWST undamaged from payload processing incident

Launch preparations for NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope will resume after testing found no damage to the spacecraft from a payload processing incident earlier this month.

NASA announced late Nov. 24 that testing of JWST found no sign of damage to any of its components after a clamp band, which secures the spacecraft to its launch vehicle adapter, suddenly and unexpectedly released during payload processing work by Arianespace. The release of the clamp band imparted vibrations to the telescope that project officials worried could have damaged it.

NASA did not discuss the specific testing performed, or the components that were of concern, but said in the statement that an anomaly board concluded that no observatory components were damaged by the test. Fueling of JWST, the next major step in preparing the spacecraft for launch, is scheduled to begin Nov. 25 and take about 10 days.

JWST's destruction has been postponed to NET Dec. 22.

Today, the President is announcing that the Department of Energy will make available releases of 50 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to lower prices for Americans and address the mismatch between demand exiting the pandemic and supply.

Says a lot about his climate shtick.. You are supposed to believe that releasing a couple of days worth of consumption will make a difference, and he is hoping it will buy some votes. Was the strategic reserve's real purpose always just to manipulate prices for political gain?

he is also focused on how consolidation in the oil and gas sector may be resulting in anti-competitive practices that keep American consumers from benefitting when oil prices fall.

Gee! To bad Carter didn't think of that...

I suppose, if they really wanted to increase global supply, they could drop the atrocious sanctions against Venezuela and Iran and Russia, but, you know, that's not what the game is about.

Poor democrats, they have nobody to run in 2024. and in the midterms, they are working hard to lose as many seats as possible, more than 2010... Reelecting your old relics that make and break promises is certainly helpful in that regard. By all means, carry on

Pentagon announces plans to streamline UFO reports and analysis

The new unified group, called the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG), will standardize the process for reporting UAP incidents, as well as "identifying and reducing gaps in operational and intelligence detection capabilities; collecting and analyzing operation, intelligence, and counterintelligence data; recommending policy, regulatory or statutory changes as appropriate; identifying approaches to prevent or mitigate any risks posed by airborne objects of interest; and other activities as deemed necessary by the Director," Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks wrote in a memo.

The newly created AOIMSG, led by a director, will now take over the work of the Navy's UAP Task Force as the Defense Department works to get a better grasp on what's behind the UFO sightings and how much of a threat they could pose to national security. The work of the AOIMSG will be overseen by an executive council.

Democrats and the FDA

In January of this year with the changing of the guard, the democrats have made the FDA (and the CIA/NSA) into sacrosanct institutions. Anybody who dares to criticize them will invariably be tagged as "Q" and consequently be accused of being anti-vax and downmodded as far as possible, something to be expected from ari, zumi, barb, and DM, and the rest of the democrat mod squad, so it was especially disappointing to hear it from mcgrew, I never took him for a worshiper.. Here's to a speedy recovery for all of you

EDIT:

Well, as the DNC Mod Squad continues its little crusade, I found out what got them started on this one. Evidently Trump criticized the FDA for not certifying his favorite tabloid medicines, and as we all know, whatever Trump is against, the democrats must defend, no matter what it is. So now, everything aimed at the FDA is about the vax, and only the vax when my criticisms are based on other things much more serious, it's quite the reversal. This is reflected in many of their obsessions, seeing any criticism of themselves as being "Trump", which partially would explain the downmods, just lashing out. Republicans are illin', but democrats are sick, with denial. Talking about the voters, the Party is doing great, can't burn the money fast enough. They love your boundless spirit and ambition.

EDIT 2:

More downmods! Democrats gone wild! Under normal circumstances this would be seen as abuse, but not this week... Keep it up. Do 'em all.. You know you want to. Show me what you got.. Too bad you can't mod journals, eh?
