On the Other Hand

Yeah, I shit all over Walker. Deservedly so. But lest you think I'm always a grouchy old bastard, here's another review.

Normally I'm not much of a happy camper about fan service. Normally it's half-assed at best. Now Coming to America 2 is absolutely fan service but it's fan service by the funniest motherfucker to ever walk the planet at the top of his game. And a lot of other really funny motherfuckers. I can honestly say it joins Empire and Godfather 2 as a sequel that's without question better than the first. I laughed my entire ass off. I now have no ass. And it was worth it.

Make sure and stick around through the credits though. The whiskers outtake still has me laughing and it's like 20 minutes after the end of the credits.

Complete Lack of Believability

Before I start, I was never a Walker, Texas Ranger fan. I prefer my Chuck mowing down hordes of folks with a machine gun. I have watched a few episodes though, maybe even half a dozen.

So, I finally broke down and fired up the first episode of the new Walker series starring Jared Padalecki. I like cowboys, cop shows, and Supernatural even if it was the whiny little bitch brother they tapped for the reboot.

Honest to fuck, they didn't even make it fifteen minutes before they had Texas cowboys and cops casually discussing race, sexuality, and gender; signaling every virtue they could find to signal. That shit just don't happen. Ever. Not even in Austin.

On top of that, everyone was way, way too groomed and pressed. Everyone's hair was perfect and all the "week of stubble" beards were meticulously trimmed. Plus, seeing a millionaire with shit on his boots and dirt on his clothes is relatively common there but I've never seen a Texan working outdoors whose clothes looked like they'd just come from a very conscientious dry cleaner.

They would have been more accurate hiring an all midget cast, painting them orange with green hair, and having them sing lines written by Texans.

This was just too far from anything even approaching potential reality. There's only so much disbelief a feller can suspend. And that's coming from an avid comic book and sci-fi fan.

Oh well, saves me watching the reboot just like I didn't watch the original.

Propagandists unmasked; censorship backfires

From the "Streisand Effect, Motherfugger!" Dept.

A few days ago, the GrayZone reported "Reuters, BBC, and Bellingcat participated in covert UK Foreign Office-funded programs to “weaken Russia,” leaked docs reveal"

https://thegrayzone.com/2021/02/20/reuters-bbc-uk-foreign-office-russian-media/

Journalism being frowned upon, this somewhat unsurprising exposé drew yet another attempt at big tech censorship. Twitter slapped a warning that the material 'may have been obtained through hacking.'

Scary haxx0rs do not share!!!!

It's backfired nicely though, to the point that even the boneheads at twitter realised it was counterproductive and withdrew the warning.

Too late, Ms Streisand! A whole new generation just encountered journalism for the first time, and they like it.

Thanks, Joe

"You guys remember how TMB said us Democrats were way more racist? Well, he was absolutely right." -- Joe Biden

Okay, what he actually said was...

A lot of people don't know how to register. Not everybody in the community, in the Hispanic and African American community, particularly in rural areas that are distant and/or inner city districts know how to use, know how to get online to determine how to get in line for that COVID vaccination at the Walgreens or at the particular store.

Yes. He actually just said brown people are too stupid to use the interwebs. I fucking told you so. I was all like "Democrats really do think they are fundamentally superior to members of minorities, so it's their duty to help the poor, stupid fuckers." And you lot were all like "You're crazy, that's not what we think! You're a racist!" And then good ole Joe comes right the fuck out and says it plain as day.

Thanks, Joe. I owe you a beer if you're ever handy where I can buy you one.

This is a coup. These are idiots.

It's really not that difficult to spot the differences. Armed military deployed domestically to control the populace and ensure power is in the hands of the person giving the orders? Coup. Civilians in stupid costumes with a high likelihood they're intoxicated? Idiots.

Now a feel free to test your understanding at home with these:

Item one
Item two

Oh, by the way, according to the current party in power, the National Guard will be staying in the capitol until at least the fall. And they'll be joined by the active military.

Hmm...

On the one hand, if this worked I wouldn't have to put up with women's shit to get laid anymore. On the other hand, I really like boobs. Sigh, boobs win again like always. Curse you, you evil sweater kittens!

Got this little tidbit passed to me a few minutes ago, thought I'd share. That sound you just heard? That was the narrative that there were no voting shenanigans and that the courts agreed shattering to tiny little pieces.

Now That's Interesting...

So, there's this: Oh my ... 64 PERCENT of Republican voters say they'd join a new Trump-led political party, according to a new poll.

You folks are welcome to weigh in on this but I don't have anything in particular to say on the matter. I owe neither Trump nor the Republicans any loyalty, nor do I hate their breathing guts. I really don't care except in the sense of would it be better or worse long-term for the country and I haven't decided which would be more likely yet. It is kind of interesting though.

Have fun.

So, remember all those EOs some of you were yelling "Dictator!!!1!" over just a couple months ago? Biden's signed more in his first ten days than Cheeto Jesus did in his first six months. More than any president in the history of the nation. And, no, they're not all revoking Trump EOs. Take out every last Trump EO reversal and he still has more than any president in history.

I eagerly await your completely unhinged rants comparing Joe Biden and Joe Stalin.
