THIS time they gave me the medicine that gives me really severe withdrawals when I don’t take it.
But just a seven day supply.
While my natural inclination is to go to the ER every seven days until someone else figures out how to get my Medicaid back, I know full well the ethical thing to do would be to fix my Medicaid problem myself.
As I am now amply medicated and so chock full of vim and vigor, when I get home I’ll put on Queen’s A Night At The Opera, turn the volume all the way up to Eleven then set into my bookkeeping until as the dawn twilight just barely lightens the sky, I shall have in hand the Profit And Loss Statement that the Washington State Health Departments wants from me to prove my income eligibility.
Update -- the LIVE Broadcast is over. But, you can still watch the "tape" on Line. And you can still donate. New Video Link..... pscp.tv/w/bypNpDFvTlFsTFJub1dwUXd8MWRqR1hPZGRCTUVLWjv8xbYULPzQD2o_5Rkg_RWVMUYoRoiLr-KQbl--GM0I

At a cost not to the hospital but to The American Taxpayer of at least two thousand dollars, quite likely more.
This because just a few days before my cancer surgery on October 31st, the Washington State Health Authority quite reasonably requested my Proof Of Medicaid Income Eligibility. I spent what could well have been my last few days on Earth not settling my affairs nor saying goodbye to my loved ones, but snail mailing the link to Living with Schizoaffective Disorder to a whole bunch of people at Caltech.
This because Caltech was where I was the craziest, while at the same time everyone there had the very least clue as to what to do about it. But I digress.
The Proof Of Eligibility requires self-employed folk such as Yours Truly to submit Profit And Loss Statements. I at first intended to prepare mine in November, but spent that whole month overcome with nausea as I recovered from that surgery; my Medicaid was cut off November 15th.
Not wanting to have to call 9-1-1 for an ambulance to the ER just so they could give me a Seven Day "Compassionate Prescription", I started tapering off my medicine. That did not work, so I took the train to Portland's new Unity Hospital, which is only a mental hospital intended to relieve the city's many fine Emergency Rooms from being overburdened by us wingnuts.
At a cost to the taxpayers of perhaps five hundred dollars, they gave me a seven day supply as well as a tasty nutritious lunch.
This time I tapered off much more carefully, but shortly before running out concluded that I could not do without Trileptal (oxcarbazepine), which treats both seizures and mania - I was having brain seizures, including twice while driving my car - Hilarity Ensued that second time - so I went back to my regular dose. I took my last tablet Thursday night.
I figured by now enough time would have elapsed that the State Health Authority would regard me has having qualified for Medicaid again solely because of a self-declared Change Of Income. I registered for Medicaid again - the Washington Apple Health Plan - then called in my Happy Pill refills.
Mid-afternoon today I went to my pharmacy but knew to ask that they verify first that they'd been able to bill my insurance. They had not, nor could they find any record of my having Medicaid at all.
My Apple Health plan is administered by Molina Health Care. I checked their website only to find my Medicaid was suspended.
At least I managed to get to the ER on the bus this time.
I had to wait quite a long time to actually get my Happy Pills, but they were expedited when I pointed out that millions of tiny bugs were marching in formation all over my body. This because doing without does not make me crazy for quite a long time, but to cut off my Trileptal suddenly makes me quite physically ill.
I'm feeling just fine. Quite a clued-in and helpful social worker is requesting authorization for a Compassionate Prescription. Once he's got that, I expect I'll be discharged then will pick up my drugs of choice at the hospital's outpatient pharmacy.
Seven More Days, though.
But there _is_ some good news: that clued-in and helpful social worker clued _me_ in to the free volunteer tax preparation that's given at the public library each tax season. Their next such session is tomorrow; I'll go first thing.
I MADE ENOUGH SINGING JUST NOW THAT I CAN GET BLOWN THROUGH A GLORY HOLE BEFORE GETTING ON THE YELLOW LINE TO GO HOME.
A couple weeks ago there was a guy in the booths to each side. I rather dislike blowing other guys but do so anyway out of simple human decency. But TWO of them? What To Do With That?
In the end, I gave them both simultaneous handjobs. That seemed to work out OK. As a photographer - not at that precise moment - there was a certain intellectual interest to the visual composition.
It happens that I was uncommonly focussed on Soggy Jobs throughout the night until late in the morning. Perhaps it wasn't because I wasn't posting Fake Jobs, rather I was adding hand-edited index.html's to all my Country, State, County, Oblast, Province, District and Region directories.
That, and for a great many directories for which I didn't have the - as Wikipedia so aptly denotes them - the Administrative Divisions the locals actually _use_ like Region and Oblast in Russia, or Province and County as the Irish do.
I hypothesize - well at least I hope - that this will greatly decrease my Bounce Rate, increase the average number of pages viewed by each user as well as get me lots more Organic Links.
Brexit is the gift that keeps on taking, and we haven't even left (the EU) yet. That happens at midnight on 29th March.
The thorny issue of the Irish border has yet to be solved as this Channel 4 News report explains despite Nigel Farage's blatant stupid signalling on Irish TV.
This was in a week where Gerard Batten, UKIP leader, formally wrote to the Queen asking her to suspend Parliament (i.e. British sovereign democracy) to prevent Remainer MPs sabotaging Brexit. It is worth noting that the last time a monarch interfered with Parliament England became a Republic.
Meanwhile in Sunderland, which overwhelmingly voted Leave, the local Nissan car factory will not be making the new X-Trail model due to Brexit uncertainty.
And, of course, there are plans to evacuate the Queen "if Brexit turns ugly."
Why would Brexit possibly turn ugly when there will be no downsides. only upsides?
Now _I_ am the addict: I've had a headache for a few hours, now the nausea has kicked in.
I did not feel well enough today to make it to Portland to sing. Tomorrow is expected to rain heavily; we might even get snow. Likely that storm will last for a few days.
There is another friend who would likely buy me a few coffees but he's only just now having his first of the morning.

I hear by proclaim next week National African American History Week, 2019.
In the year 1619, a Dutch trading ship sailed into the Chesapeake Bay and dropped anchor at Point Comfort, Virginia. Comfort, what a name. Sounds a lot like Pleasure. Believe me, it was no pleasure at all. The vessel’s arrival marked the beginning of the unscrupulous slave trade in the American colonies. So many folks coming to our Country, in many cases unwillingly. They were African, they went through a lot. To become American. And that led to many things. To FREEDOM. And the very special achievements that we honor and celebrate during National African American History Week. Our wonderful African Americans enrich every fiber of American life.
It's going to be a great week. A great time to think about the horrible Crisis on our Southern Border. So many folks coming to our Country, and in many cases it's unwilling.
We don't call it slavery. We call it Human Trafficking. We have the Coyotes. The victims are women. And children. Maybe to a lesser extent, believe it or not, children. Women are tied up. They're bound, not too tight but not too loose. Duct tape put around their faces, around their mouths, and in many cases, they can't even breathe. You want to let them breathe. Maybe not easily, but they need to breathe. They're put in the backs of cars or vans or trucks. They don't go through your port of entry. They can't come through the port, because if they come through the port, people will see 4 women, sitting in a van, with tape around their face and around their mouth. People will ask, "oh hello ladies, is everything all right in there?" And the answer from the women won't be easy to hear. The answer that comes back is gonna be muffled. Because of the duct tape. And you can try that one at home. The duct tape on the woman. Or turn it around and the woman tapes the man. You can turn it around, just this once. You try it, then you know. Very special experience.
Mexico is sending, they call them the Coyotes. They're driving unbelievable vehicles. They have the best vehicles you can buy. Stronger, bigger, and faster vehicles than our police have, than ICE has. Or Border Patrol. They have areas they go to, it's like a highway. No tolls, they don't pay the tolls. They go into the desert areas, or whatever areas you can look at. And as soon as there's no protection, they make a turn to the left. And another turn to the left, in some instances a turn to the right or they even go straight. Into the United States of America. There's nobody to catch them, there's nobody to find them. Can't have that. And it's a problem that's gotten much worse. Because of internet. We know this, because they're leaving so many prayer rugs out there in the desert. Big mess, they use these rugs once or twice. And then it becomes trash. We have the garbage patches in the ocean. And our Southern Border is getting very trashy too. Low class and it's hurting the property values. People coming across from many countries, some of which would be a big surprise. Middle Eastern countries. Muslim countries. We need a ban on Muslims entering our Country. Until we can figure out what the hell is going on.
And Brian Kolfage is helping us with that one. He was a great, and very brave soldier. In the horrible Iraq war -- big mistake. And Brian's a cripple, he's an amputee. They blew off his legs, blew off his whatever. He doesn't need them. Because he's a thinker, he works with his Brian. Very smart guy and there's nothing wrong with his Brian, believe me. He did the GoFundMe, $1 billion for the Wall. But he saw that it would be much smarter to start a Foundation. And have that money go to his Foundation. But unfortunately GoFundMe told the wonderful donors, "oh, your money was for the Wall, we didn't reach the $1 billion for that, you can have your money back -- or let it go to Brian's Foundation." Don't take that money back, folks. Tell Brian to keep it. So it goes to his Foundation. We love Foundations, right? And his Foundation, eventually, will BUILD THE WALL!
Enjoy National African American History Week. A great time to honor our beautiful Civil War (and other) statues, honor our history. And there's no better way than with my History Is Watching Tee shirts. Now on sale. Regular $20, we brought them down to $16. Tremendous deal. And don't forget a Make America Great Again Hat. You've seen the red, the original red. Great choice. In the beginning we only had the red ones. But now we also have the pink. The white. And the camo. Many colors. Like our great American people! shop.donaldjtrump.com/products/history-is-watching-mens-tee-small
And by the way, Governor Ralph Northam of Virginia. This guy has got to go. He wore "black face." Do you know the "black face"? Something the boys at Covington High do a lot. But, they're kids. When a grown man does it, very different. Very insulting to our fabulous blacks. And Ralph went to the makeup department, they did the black makeup. Like he was Al Jolson. Or Eddie Cantor. Those guys put on the "black face," they truely became black, it was very convincing. Because they weren't just great singers. They were great ACTORS. They could act. And Ralph can't act. Another thing, people are saying that he is, or was, in the K.K.K. Whatever that is. I don't know a lot about that one, but I'm told it's not good. Ralph's an embarrassment. And he apologized. It's not enough. He needs to resign. To quit. I always say, "winners never quit & quitters never win" (Vince L). Ralph's not a winner. He's a loser. And possibly you're thinking, "oh, President Trump, you're the least racist person, you're very sensitive to these things!" That's true, that's so true. But it's not just me. It's many people. Including some of our wonderful African Americans. Joe Biden. And Michael Moore. Time to go, Ralph!!!
Normally I don't like to talk about items that are going on in different US States than the one that I live in, but if something like this passes in Virginia I see no reason why it would not also pass in Oregon.
A BILL to amend and reenact §§ 16.1-77, 18.2-73, 18.2-74, 18.2-76, and 32.1-127 of the Code of Virginia, relating to abortions; eliminate certain requirements.

I found the changes and how they could be applied very interesting.
Notwithstanding any of the provisions of § 18.2-71 and in addition to the provisions of § 18.2-72, it shall be lawful for any physician licensed by the Board of Medicine to practice medicine and surgery, to terminate or attempt to terminate a human pregnancy or aid or assist in the termination of a human pregnancy by performing an abortion or causing a miscarriage on any woman during the second trimester of pregnancy and prior to the third trimester of pregnancy provided such procedure is performed in a hospital licensed by the State Department of Health or operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

Some key portions from the legislation are above, I neglected to bring in the stricken language about women needing ultrasounds and similar requirements because I think that is a separate issue.
https://freebeacon.com/issues/virginia-dems-attempt-to-pass-bill-allowing-abortions-up-to-40-weeks/ includes a video from the legislative proceedings with questions being asked of the bills sponsor Delegate Kathy Tran.
During Democratic Delegate Kathy Tran's presentation of the bill on Tuesday, Majority Leader Todd Gilbert (R.) asked her about the full extent of the bill's leniency.
"How late in the third trimester could a physician perform an abortion if he indicated that it would impair the mental health of the woman?" Gilbert asked.
"Or physical health," Tran said.
"Okay," Gilbert replied. "I'm talking about the mental health."
"I mean, through the third trimester," Tran said. "The third trimester goes up to 40 weeks."
"Okay, but to the end of the third trimester?" Gilbert asked.
"Yup, I don't think we have a limit in the bill," Tran said.
"Where it's obvious that a woman is about to give birth, she has physical signs that she's about to give birth, would that still be a point at which she could request an abortion if she was so certified?" Gilbert asked. "She's dilating."
Tran replied that was a decision the woman and her doctor would have to make before choosing to have an abortion. Gilbert asked specifically if the measure would allow for abortion right before birth.
"My bill would allow that, yes," Tran said.
https://freebeacon.com/issues/virginia-dems-attempt-to-pass-bill-allowing-abortions-up-to-40-weeks/ has a video of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam being interviewed about the subject. The Governor says that if the woman so wanted an abortion and was certified
So in this particular example, if a mother is in labor I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if thats what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.
How can there be any discussion about this after the baby is already born?
