Mike Crawford Is Dead, Contributed to Mac System 7.5.X and Activist
Some of you might know him on the west coast. He worked for Apple fixing/debugging System 7.5.X and attended Cal Tech. He was an activist for the mentally ill and homeless. He was openly bisexual and open about his schizoaffective disorder. His Facebook page.
I had helped him with his project Soggy Jobs which is unfinished. It was his project he needed a business model for.
He was on CNN about the taking away of tax credit from software engineers.
He was a member here at Hacker News.
He had serious physical illnesses that made him suffer and he took his own life.
I was an online friend of his, and I too suffer from schizoaffective disorder.
His wish was not to be forgotten to be remembered through his works. To at least have a Wikipedia article written on him or some other Wiki. Wikipedia named him non-notable about ten years ago. But if you met him, he'd always show you respect and even if he disagreed with you he was nice about it.

He isn't telling them to dump the body there. In a will, you have to identify a person to such extent that a reasonable person would be able to ascertain the identity the beneficiary based on your description. The shorthand for doing that (when they don't have a designation or class, such as "my children," "my alma mater," "all red-headed graduates of my high school," etc.) is usually their address (it used to be SSNs). However, many people think that naming the address is required, which is why you will see "current address unknown" in wills, even from lawyers who should know better.

There was actually a case in my state where someone left a ton of money in a bequest phrased like, "my best friend, John Smith, at 123 4th street." However, that John Smith moved and another one moved in. There was then a challenge in the probate court and the judge had to figure out who it should go to. The intended John Smith won, as he could prove he was the best friend, and the other John Smith was thrown in prison for multiple perjury and similar crimes. The case included such brilliant examination as "What was the deceased favorite color?", "How did you meet the deceased?", and "How often would you say you saw the deceased's train set?"

I can see where people try very hard to be clear and complete, and yet someone always finds a way to misinterpret and misunderstand (the story of my life) then tries to capitalize, and sadly they often do. Glad to know there's occasional sanity in the court system.
