TechCrunch has written about the FCCs pre-emptive reaction to the new inspector general report regarding an alleged attack on the FCC comment system last year which the FCC had long alluded to concerning the net neutrality debate. The FCC now admits that the attacks never actually took place, after a report from its inspector general found a lack of evidence supporting the idea. Chairman Ajit Pai immediately turned around and blamed both the previous CIO and ... wait for it ... Obama.

Pai's statement was issued before the OIG publicized its report, as one does when a report is imminent that essentially says your agency has been clueless at best or deliberately untruthful at worst, and for more than a year. To be clear, the report is still unpublished, though its broader conclusions are clear from Pai's statement. In it he slathers Bray with the partisan brush and asserts that the report exonerates his office

TechCrunch is still waiting to hear back from the FCC and its Office of the Inspector General for more information, including the report itself.

Not anymore. Accountability has been slowly slipping away, only to be replaced by fake outrage against anyone from the other party.

We only get fake outrage because the politicians that would be actually outraged were voted out of office in the last cycle because they refused to take part in the latest hack of the political process.

This is not intended to be partisan, but a general statement affecting all politicians that should be equally applicable regardless of who is in power. This shit is worse at the primary level anyway.

There is one word that they use for deliberately misleading the public:

Is this related to those weird scars on Obama's head that millions of doctors are trying to ensure aren't released to the public? The ones make it look like he had brain surgery, possibly to have a "hacking chip" installed somewhere in the occipital region? Could this chip possibly be turing complete and thus used to assist in both superhuman teleprompter reading and posting comments to the FCC website?

Even the lizard people's mind control chips aren't sharp enough to pull off Barack's patter speed in Q&A sessions. Whatever powers that be have such mind control tech also can implant the devices without visible scarring. I believe Barry is a free agent who rode the killer wave all the way to the beach - part of how you do that is by avoiding the sharks, including the telecomms lobby.

Of course, we've got carrot man off his board and trying to punch the occasional great white in the nose, and he doesn't seem to be going down yet - protected by a partisan legislature really does make a difference.

      Most corrupt administration ever.

Hard to say. It used to be common practice to enter a congressman' or senator' office with an envelop full of cash to get the ball rolling. As technology improved it became harder to hide evidence and bury investigations which made buying politicians and fixing jobs for friends a dangerous and expensive affair. You can get a feel for it here comparing pre and post Nixon scandals: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_political_scandals_in_the_United_States [wikipedia.org]

IMHO, the fact a millionaire had to risk their own neck and run for office using their own money is proof enough that they couldn't get enough corrupt politicians to do their job for them. Now sure he's trying to do all sorts of corrupt stuff. But as far as what he's actually getting away with, I'd say he's utterly failing. I mean, just think, aside from the stuff the house and congress were eager to sign on and would have passed under Hillary anyhow (tax cuts, more F35s for Lockheed...), everything he tried under his own jurisdiction failed since the other branches kept interfering.

Overall, executive branch wise, this might very well end up being the least corrupt administration in recent times.

So, crossing fingers for another 4 years? :D

The FCC lied. About feedback on an issue of national importance. Something that affects almost every American, and probably indirectly does affect every American.

Are there any Republicans who care? Will any speak up? Will any say this is, at a minimum, shameful?

Or does truth not matter as long as corporations can screw ordinary people*.

I mean, Republicans are quick to be outraged about Hillary Clinton's global child sex traffcking ring run out of the basement of a pizza shop in DC. So why aren't they as outraged about this? Or maybe they are and I'm just not hearing it?

    * by ordinary people, I mean actual humans, not "corporations are people too".

They won't open that can of worms. Next you'll have people demanding evidence for Russian interference in the elections and that will inevitably lead back to the Republicans. Same reason Trump didn't press that Hillary email server issue after a while. Putting a high standard for evidence in accountability tends to come back biting in you in the ass when you're a corporate shill.
