Tossing vaccine priority list, Biden tells states to open eligibility by May 1:

On the first anniversary of the global COVID-19 pandemic, US President Joe Biden announced that he will direct states to open vaccine eligibility to all American adults no later than May 1, a dramatic acceleration of the national immunization plan that has been sluggish and, at times, chaotic.

"That's much earlier than expected," Biden said in a televised, prime-time address. It doesn't mean every American over age 18 will have their shot by then, Biden cautioned, but you'll be able to get in line.

The announcement means that carefully crafted prioritizations for vaccines will soon no longer apply. The White House COVID-19 Response Team landed on May 1 for the deadline after concluding that national vaccination efforts would be far-enough along by the end of April to make the prioritizations obsolete anyway.

"If we all do our part, this country will be vaccinated soon," Biden said, "our economy will be on the mend, our kids will be back in school, and we'll have proven once again that this country can do anything."

On one hand, the Biden regime may have no plan nor competency and just throws over a distribution plan that was arranged between health authorities of the states and the federal government.

On the other hand, maybe they know that by May 1, many unvaccinated people are not planning to take an "emergency"-approved, rushed treatment for a disease that has a >99.5% survival rate and may require a special test to know that one is even infected.

You make it sound like that's a good thing.. but 99.5% is not a very good survival rate. In more normal times, people get all worked up over fatal car crashes, and those only killed 30-50K per year in recent decades. Corona is 10x worse than that -- over 500K confirmed deaths in USA in the first year.

This is disingenuous, whether you realize it or not. Car crashes affect all individuals equally. Corona has a near zero fatality rate for anybody below the age of 65, and a much higher fatality rate - approaching 10% for those 80+.

the nazis shot the jews, we shot the nazis - remind me how these two differ? you are a doorknob. they differ because they are literally opposite of each other. there are some dumb redneck state advisors in certain states, and in sweden for some reason, who are doorknobs like you, are shunned by the medical community and consensus of all the other scientists, and are a tiny minority. they use their power to kill a bunch of rednecks. I'm all for that, but the president's job is to take care of the rednecks too.

we first had the EU-funded vaccine created by the two turcs, and there was enough doses only for the people in high risk groups. this was because Dump rejected the offer to buy more. then we got the slightly less effective american-funded vaccine, with a tiny number of available doses - because hey, that's how Dump rolls. still not enough for everyone. Now with Biden in power, we're getting more vaccines, and a 3rd one entered the market. So now we'll have enough for everyone by summer. And the fed government is who distributes that to the states. So now any "medical advisor who is also a blue collar lawn maintenance guy" who stands in the way of people signing up to take the vaccine, is literally trying to kill people, and is overruled by the federal directive.

So one guy is encouraging the spread of covid while refusing to listen to scientific consensus. The other guy is wiping out covid as fast as possible, and stomping over a couple of idiots who are scientific outcasts, and were last to graduate in their class. They are literally opposite. As I said, I completely agree. Everyone is free to die. However, some government redneck preventing you from signing up for the list to a vaccine when there are enough available for everyone is not "letting someone die." It is actively preventing them from trying to live, trying to kill them, committing a crime, being a stupid faggot, etc. It is the job of the president, unless he too is a stupid orange faggot, to prevent stupid faggots in power from hurting other people with that power.

My human life is special to me and my family. Yes, it's not special to you, nor is yours to me. Thankfully due to the stupid faggot being removed from office, his stupid faggot peers cannot put my special human life in danger. And if someone doesn't want the vaccine, guess what - they don't have to take it. But them preventing others from getting it is an offense worth being shot in the face.

The big problem with hating people for the way nature made them is over time your like-minded-colleagues will have to drop from your side because someone vulnerable to that hate will have entered their friends/family circle. If you hate booger-addicted people then one day, if enough time passes, someone with a penchant for boogers will marry into your family and keeping up the negativity will be impractical.

They claim to be doing it based upon whom will contact out the most easily and have issues, but they'll only have been vaccinating essential workers fur about a week when Biden does this. Most teachers will have received both doses.

It's rather screwed up that essential workers didn't get doses and will now be competing with those that can just stay home.

This gives the teachers wide latitude to continue to collect handsome benefits while telling everybody else to fuck off. They're enjoying extended and paid-for spring breaks while poor and middle class kids are going retarded and insane, rich kids continue to go to in-person schools like normal, and thanks to the Rona hoax they can continue to declare their physical workplaces unsafe and also declare the vaccines too unsafe to justify receiving. It starts after May 1st... More 5 months after people started getting vaccinated.

I currently live in GA... The state that was 3rd worse in the whole country just 2 or 3 weeks ago.

GA has already vaccinated over 10% of its population... (completely with both doses) nearly 20% with at least 1 dose.
Earlier this week on Monday, teachers where allowed to get the vaccine.
In 2 days on Monday, GA will be adding everyone 55 and over, as well any adult with complicating conditions like COPD, obesity and diabetes.
On April 1st, one month before the date set by Joe Biden, all adults in GA will be able to get the vaccine.

The point of my comparison with GA as a whole is that if one of the worst states in the country will be ready for all adults in 3 weeks, Joe Biden requesting that the entire country is open to all adults in 7 weeks is not a big hurdle and does not really curtail priorities that have already been in place for over 5 months.

I'll just add that in my state, which seems to be about average on vaccination pace, it's currently "everybody over age 50 can get vaccinated", and at the rate they're dropping it by 10 years every week, which means we'll be getting to "everybody is eligible" well before the May 1st date that Biden mentioned.

Something I've been noticing from Biden on Covid is that he's actually been very much in the habit of under-promising: A few weeks ago, he was talking about getting everyone vaccinated in time to celebrate Thanksgiving. Then it was July 4. Now he's aiming for early June. That's certainly a better error to make than in the other direction.

There's a problem with what you're saying. You are not really basing your opinion based on the objective actions being taken by either president by rather by how "the media" portrays this. And I put "the media" in quotes, because now a days most people voluntarily immerse themselves in echo chambers and so "the media" becomes more aptly phrased as "your media." And so it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy that anytime you have a president in office that aligns with your interests he will be amazing, and any time you do not - he will be the worst president ever. I could give a lot of examples of this, but to keep things brief I'm going to stick with two:

                ---

                1) Avoiding the Press: [cnn.com] Trump was attacked for having no formal Q&A within 19 days of his inauguration. Biden was inaugurated going on two months ago and has still not had a formal Q&A session, which is now the longest in at least a century. But where it gets really weird is with stuff like this [youtube.com]. During a web session, Biden offers to take questions *from his own caucus*, asks Nancy Pelosi for permission, and she suddenly looks extremely nervous at which point the feed is cut.

                2) Attacks on the Media: [nytimes.com] Trump was attacked for regularly claiming, in colorful language, that the media engaged in partisan motivated deception and sensationalism. which came down to claiming they engage in partisan motivated deception and sensationalism. This [house.gov] is a letter of intimidation that was sent to AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Google, and numerous other content carriers. It includes questions such as, "Are you planning to continue carrying Fox News on YouTube TV both now and beyond any contract renewal date? Are you planning to continue carrying Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN apps in the Play Store? If so, why?" The DNC is literally working to cancel conservative media, claiming it contributed to the January 6th riots. Imagine now the GOP/Trump did the exact same thing to try to get MSN, CNN, NYTimes, etc cancelled by claiming their reporting contributed to the BLM/Antifa riots over the past year.

                ---

There are countless more examples, and it hasn't even been 2 months yet. Remember during Nixon's era about a third of the country remained neutral to supportive of him, even up to the point that he resigned before being genuinely impeached (and convicted) over genuinely criminal behavior during Watergate. The point, again, is that when people have set their mind in one way - it can often be impossible to change it. Try to ensure you never become one of those people.

If you want to get into actual actions of each president, Trump literally tried to overthrow the US government. There simply isn't a higher crime the president can commit. Biden could be in a coma and he's still be the better president, not because of media bias, but because he wouldn't be committing treason.

As for the rest of it, you seem to be claiming Biden is bad because he's avoiding media questions just as much as Trump? So you think they're the same then?

And some other people who aren't Biden are asking AT&T if they intend to continue their contract with "news" organizations that have defended themselves in court by claiming no reasonable viewer would take the information they present as fact? Come back when Fox or OAN fight a libel case in court by proving the truth of their claims instead of arguing that everyone knows they are lying the all the time.

If you genuinely do not get what I am saying - I am stating that your perception is primarily being driven by media misrepresentation. That you've been convinced that a politician telling his supporters to "fight like hell" was some secret code for "We're going to now overthrow the government" is because you immerse yourself in and consume without skepticism or independent logic. Here [youtube.com] is a montage of various politicians encouraging their supporters to "fight". Many vastly more incendiary than anything Trump said.

On a number of issues so far Biden is behaving in a much worse fashion than Trump, yet you cannot see this for your own bias. You will now blindly defend him ignoring the media, while you'd condemn Trump for far less. You'll blindly defend the DNC genuinely attacking the freedom of the press, while condemning Trump for far less. That you think Biden is better president is not because your are objectively assessing what is happening and then coming to that conclusion, but because you would convince yourself (rightly or wrongly) that anybody would be better.

                        Okay let's take two scenarios:

                        1) Trump organizes a protest. The idea was to put on a protest against what he felt was an unfair election. A tiny fraction of those protesters then end up becoming stupid, as is a regular occurrence at protests.

                        2) Trump and his allies organized some secret conspiracy to kill all of the representatives. Somehow this plan is foiled, or never started, or something? Your conspiracy theory lacks details, evidence, or any logical coherence so far as I can tell.

Do please present evidence for #2. I'd also add that if your claimed assassins clearly seemed to have missed the message. Here [rumble.com] is a video of the protesters being let into the Capitol and directed where to go by a large number of police. As the protesters orderly go inside, single file - some expressing distrust of being let in stating at 15 seconds, "They're going to lock us in."

Youtube is full of videos of the January 6th insurrectionists destroying property, smearing shit in hallways, killing one cop, and attempting to kill others. Even if you only believe the "riot" was spontaneous there's simply too much video to pretend it was peaceful. They were a violent mob defiling our capital.

                          So, a timeline:
Going into this all Trump lied repeatedly and at length about the election results. This served to rile up those gullible enough to believe him, making them angry and easily manipulated.

On December 12 Enrique Tarrio, Proud Boy leader, was invited to the White House before the MAGA rally that day. We don't know who he met with but clearly it was somebody in the presidents employ.

The "QAnan Shaman" Jacob Chansley was reported to police on December 14 for loitering around the Senate building with his iconic spear. Police said that "higher ups had allowed him to be there."

On December 19 Trump asked his military advisers if he could impose martial law and rerun the election.

Phone records show calls between various Proud Boys, who ended up breaching the capitol, and Trumps White House aides.

Normally before any large rally in DC the DC National Guard is set on standby incase things go south. On January 5 they were specifically ordered not to stand by on January 6 and that they could not deploy without approval form Trumps Secretary of Defense, Christopher Miller, who Trump had just installed following the firing of Mark Esper in November.

Republican representatives have been accused of giving tours of the Capitol Building to individuals who would breach the building the next day. The results of the investigation into these claims have not been made public.

While Trump gave his speech in front of the White House members of the Proud Boys were waiting outside the Capitol Building. These people, one of whom met with somebody inside the White House and others of whom had been called by Trumps aides days before, were NOT at Trumps Stop the Steal rally. Instead they were well armed and waiting by the Capitol Building.

Bombs were placed outside the Democratic and Republican national committees. These were reported and draw police away from the Capitol less than an hour before the attack.

Trump had his rally where he told his supporters to go to the Capitol Building, to "fight like hell," to make congress ignore the electoral votes from blue states. His words here don't really matter much tho, the point was to rile up the useful idiots and send them into the Capitol Building.

When the crowd from Trumps rally got to the capitol building they and the waiting Proud Boys attacked the police line, shoving them aside, assaulting them with pepper spray and fire extinguishers, and later even beating one officer to death. Yes, some Capitol Hill police officers opened doors for the attackers, gave them directions, and took selfies with them. Are you really surprised that a coup attempt would have a few people on the inside?

The Proud Boys quickly moved through the building strait to the offices of prominent Democrats but didn't manage to catch any. CCTV footage has revealed that some representatives only escaped by seconds.

Over a timeframe of hours rioters shit in the halls of congress, stole computers and furniture, injured dozens of police, called for the murder of multiple Democrat representatives and Vice President Mike Pence. While this was happening Trump and/or his recently appointed Secretary of Defense refused to call in the National Guard SIX times. Pence, who doesn't even technically have the authority, finally convinced Mr Miller to deploy the guard.

Following the attack Republican leaders have threatened that Trumps supporters might attack again if Democrats refuse to comply with Republican demands.

And that's just what I remember. More details are coming out because the investigations are still ongoing. We have evidence of planning before hand, the attack itself, and a refusal to stop the attack once it was in progress.

So we have a violent attack on the capitol which, at the absolute least, was instigated by Trump and resulted in nearly 100 police injured and came seconds away from putting an angry mob chanting "Hang Mike Pence" in the same room as the Vice President which Trump then refused to stop for hours. We also have decisions and orders from the days leading up to the attack which broke normal protocol and made the attack far more dangerous than is should have been, despite the FBI warning that there would likely be an assault on the Capitol on January 6. It's one hell of a coincidence if those are unrelated.

First, I very much appreciate the effort and response you put into this - and I read every single word. So many people never seem to put any effort whatsoever into assessing topics, instead mostly arbitrarily picking what they want to be true and then finding evidence to support that. But now I have a question for you? What would you say if I told you if a key point you've been led to believe was completely fake? Not as in "well not exactly how it happened" but completely, and absolutely, fabricated? The officer you mention multiple times as being "killed", or "beat to death" - that was Brian Sicknick. And what you are stating is indeed exactly what the corporate media said [archive.org] happened. In that archive of a NYTimes article they state,

Then on Wednesday, pro-Trump rioters attacked that citadel of democracy, overpowered Mr. Sicknick, 42, and struck him in the head with a fire extinguisher, according to two law enforcement officials. With a bloody gash in his head, Mr. Sicknick was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. He died on Thursday evening.

The problem? None of that happened, at all. All sources, including the corporate media, have now updated their stories with varying degrees of transparency. Not only was he not beat to death, he wasn't even attacked. His family gave an interview with the Daily Mail here [dailymail.co.uk]. He was fine during the riots and afterwards. He returned to his station and was texting with his brother, telling him that he was maced a couple of times, but in good shape. He later suffered a stroke, collapsed, and was rushed to the hospital where he ultimately died.

We are living in a seriously weird time, because this is not just an "oopsie" or a some sort of "spin" or bias. This is fabricating a completely fake story and spreading it far and wide, with actors all the way to the highest level of government maintaining the facade. Think about the fact that the President and others obviously knew about the cause of death of Sicknick, yet they continued to pretend he was killed by protesters while putting on oscar-worthy performances during his honor ceremony at the Capitol Rotunda. Sicknick is only the 5th person to ever receive such an honor, others including people such as Rosa Parks.

There is nothing like this - whatsoever - at any point in American history. And this [worldnow.com] is what our national capitol building still looks like - months after a protest during which *nobody* was killed (which certainly cannot be said of many protests over the past year). And this is all happening at the same time we're seeing increasingly aggressive pushes for banning of books, mass censorship, trying to destroy the lives of people for having different opinions, and more. We're on a very dark path.

We have video of Brian Sicknick and other officer being beaten by the insurrectionists. There is not question he was attacked. You can watch it with your own eyes. So, looking into your claims, it seems like his actual cause of death may have been close range bear spray instead of beating.

They killed him either way. Arguing about what exact method the rioters used to end his life is stupid and pointless.

Besides, there are numerous factors pointing to Trump and/or his closest advisors planning the coup attempt on January 6. It appears I wasn't up to date on the details of one act of violence that occurred that day. The rest of it stands. Trumps advisors met with the people that breached the Capitol Building weeks beforehand, were on the phone with them days before, disable security the day before, and then Trump refused to stop the violence after it became clear political leaders were in danger.

The attack happened. It was violent. The videos are there to watch. We are on a dark path, not because of some international media conspiracy but because top Republican politicians tried to overthrow the US government and the majority of their fellows have refused to condemn their atrocity.

Let's try to consider this rationally. Trumps conspiracy to attack the Capitol Building would require a dozen people - A few Proud Boy leaders, a few advisers, a couple aides, one or two congress critters, and maybe a few Capitol Hill cops.

By contrast manufacturing the attack as a media stunt would require the cooperation of every single congress critter and senator and all of their aides, hundreds of actors and a sizable film crew to produce the videos we've seen, thousands of witnesses including members of the press in DC, and who-knows-how-many reporters, politicians, pundits, and others from all over the world.

To fake the January 6 insurrection would be a moon landing sized conspiracy. It's absolutely ludicrous to claim it was anything other than what it looked like.

I don't think you understand the implications of this.

You speak of conspiracy, seemingly without realizing you have *already* seen a tremendous failed conspiracy. Our entire media spread a completely fake story, and politicians all the way up to the president played along with it. I mean do you even understand what is happening here? The President, likely as well as most of congress, *knew* that Sicknick died of a stroke, yet they played along with the martyr narrative. That entire narrative was then used as a key component in the impeachment trial. This is the sort of stuff you read about in history books, happening - today, in front of your eyes.

Obviously the videos you've seen are completely real. You can find similar stuff at every single protest/riot over the past year. Protests are always an inch away from becoming mobs, and mobs do very dumb things. It's why just about every protest over the past year, including that on January 6th, has had some small fraction of the protesters ended up descending into riotous behavior. What isn't real is what the media has claimed the videos are of. For instance the video you are thinking was Sicknick is probably the officer who was in the entry of that doorway. The media claimed it was Sicknick. It wasn't. Again, Sicknick was in no way whatsoever harmed by protesters or rioters. And the officer that was in the video that was shown was perfectly fine.

If you want to think about things rationally, think about what you're saying. Trump wants to kill congress so he stages a mega rally, has a million cameras everywhere, police everywhere, media everywhere, and then he's going to rely on.... The Proud Boys (the leader of whom is an FBI informant) as his elite force? Trump has tremendous support among the rank and file of the military. If he wanted to stage a coup, he very likely could have. Instead? Within minutes of Biden requesting [twitter.com] Trump tell his supporters to go home, Trump released a video on Twitter stating:

I know your pain, I know you're hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election and everyone knows it, especially the other side. But you have to go home now. We have to have peace. We have to have law and order. We have to respect our great people in law and order. We don't want anybody hurt.

It's a very tough period of time. There's never been a time like this where such a thing happened where they could take it away from all of us — from me, from you, from our country. This was a fraudulent election, but we can't play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home. We love you. You're very special. You've seen what happens. You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil.

I know how you feel, but go home, and go home in peace.

I'd link to it on Twitter, but Twitter inexplicably chose to rapidly delete that Tweet he made, and the ones following it that also urged his supporters to go home, and stay peaceful. Shortly thereafter, they would ban his entire account. It's almost like they want to try to advance a narrative that Trump made no effort to end the chaos.

Your entire counter argument seems to hinge on the fact that Brian Sicknick's cause of death was initially misreported in the midst of a chaotic attack on our nations capitol. Initially there were reports of six deaths in the assault. Followup reporting quickly clarified that those were medical emergencies and not criminal. If there is a media conspiracy shouldn't it be claiming all of them were a result of Trumps mob?

Yes, Trump eventually tweeted out a weak-ass "go home" after denying use of the DC National Guard SIX times. SIX. Had he done nothing the National Guard would have been standing by and standard protocol would have stopped the attack the building was breached. Had he authorized the Guard to respond the first time he was asked the attack would have ended minutes after the insurrectionists entered the buildings.

Even if you think there was no planning and no forethought whatsoever Trumps actions during and after the assault amount to near treason.

Imagine if a BLM protest breeched the Capitol Building and individuals armed with quick cuffs and guns were marching through the senate chambers chanting "Murder Moscow Mitch." If Biden ordered the National Guard to stand down and do nothing for three hours would that seem like a reasonable response? Would you say that was an appropriate way to uphold his oath of office?

It wasn't "initially misreported". The framing of Sicknick's death being a brutal murder by protesters persisted for weeks. By the time of his honorary at the Capitol Rotunda, the autopsy had been fully completed, and he had been cremated. His completely fabricated murder at the hands of protesters was used as a key building block in the impeachment trial, and was similarly used to justify by the (still ongoing) militarization of the capitol by framing the protest as deadly, when in reality not a single person was killed beyond an unarmed woman who was shot in the throat.

This is such an extreme and gross and malicious lie that it should make you strongly question any and all narrative you have heard about what happened on the 6th. You can't deny the breech of the building nor the violence. You can't deny that Trump supported it by, at the very least, allowing it to continue for hours. You know this is not a minor detail. There have been thousands of hours of media dedicated to this lie. Officer Sicknick was elevated alongside the likes of Rosa Parks on a lie. Congress, the President, Vice President, and others staged a ceremony dedicated to a lie. All of the footage derived from that ceremony, all of the somber ponderances during that ceremony - all based on a lie. All of the claims in the media, repeated unquestioningly, that he died from injuries suffered during the protest - all lies.

This is one of the most extreme fabrications in modern American history, if not American history period. Of course obviously the problem you're having reconciling is: if this is such a big deal why isn't the media talking about it? And the answer to that question is the same as that to the question of why they unquestioningly, and so aggressively, spread the lie to begin with.

I'll conclude here with one simple thing. Imagine in our little conversation here that I actively and aggressively claimed something. And you eventually were able to prove that what I was saying was not only a lie, but something I would have known was a lie. What would you think about my motivations? What would you think about my own personal opinion of what I was arguing for, given I had to resort to lies? What would you think of anything else I had to say?

As president you automatically get promoted to Ex-President after 4 years even if you don't do a single thing right! Where's the motivation?!

His *admin* did right, as the other comment noted. Normally a prez could take credit for what his administration does, but since the Chief Criminal did just about everything possible to make COVID worse he doesn't get any bonus for the few things he wasn't able to totally fuck up. Make no mistake, he intentionally made the pandemic worse as we found out via his own words in his interview with Bob Woodward.

So EEMac, how about you stop shilling for a sociopathic criminal. Whether you believe anything else or not, the disastrous pandemic response was intentional and has led to a minimum of tens of thousands of dead Americans. COVID was precisely the type of situation where presidential leadership could make a massive difference, and the GOP decided stockholder profits were more important than American lives.

Pfizer concealing until after the election that they already had a vaccine ready. This was done solely to sink Trump's reelection chances.

If there was political capital at risk, the Trump administration should have pinned them down, had their plans for imminent seeking of emergency use authorization in writing, so they could have said "Pfizer is planning to file for approval the day after election day. They must feel it is ready for use, and our FDA will not delay in their evaluation. Operation Warp Speed was a success."

They didn't, and it turned into a missed opportunity for messaging in a critical time.

What Biden Derangement Syndrome? I haven't seen any. Not liking him or disagreeing with his policies is not in any way the same as the frothing incoherent rage directed at Trump over the last four years. Admittedly I'm steering clear of Freeperville and the like so maybe I've missed it, but then I'd have to ask "when are they not frothing at the mouth rabid morons?", which is why I steer clear of them.

      > Nothing Joe Biden does is ever going to satisfy the haters.

Lefty here who had very low expectations for Biden, who has a (well documented) history of being a war hawk, anti-choice and anti-union/worker-- he would have made a good right-wing Republican before the Republican party's shift further right into fascism.

But, there have been some bright spots in his domestic policy and in _some_ of his appointments. Pleasantly surprised.

Didn't take him long before he started murdering brown people with bombs, though.

So, "satisfied" not yet*. But, it is going much better than I thought it would (so far).

      * Requisite for being "satisfied" is that Biden not initiate any new campaigns of murder on poor people in other countries, and that he end the current decades old U.S. campaigns of murder against poor people. But, that is unlikely to happen. Ending sanctions on the 25% of the worlds population currently under U.S. sanctions (during a pandemic) would be a good start too. Sanctions kill innocents. Bill Clinton murdered 1/4 million _children_ with his sanctions against the Iraqi people according to the United Nations Children's Fund.
