US leaving UN Human Rights Council -- 'a cesspool of political bias'

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley announced the United States is withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council Tuesday, accusing the body of bias against US ally Israel and a failure to hold human rights abusers accountable. The move, which the Trump administration has threatened for months, came down one day after the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights slammed the separation of children from their parents at the US-Mexico border as "unconscionable."

Speaking from the State Department, where she was joined by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Haley defended the move to withdraw from the council, saying US calls for reform were not heeded. "Human rights abusers continue to serve on, and be elected to, the council," said Haley, listing US grievances with the body. "The world's most inhumane regimes continue to escape its scrutiny, and the council continues politicizing scapegoating of countries with positive human rights records in an attempt to distract from the abusers in its ranks."

Mike Godwin, the man who created Godwin's Law, has something to say about the Trump administration:

Kinda the perfect thing there when the inventor of Godwin's Law demonstrates it for everyone. There is a lesson there that the Left can ignore.

You morons still can't admit the basic truth. This how you got Trump. This is how you will get more Trump. And even the ones on the Left who can see it can't help themselves, they just keep doubling down on the insanity. It is going to be a glorious six more years followed by four or eight more.

And I will be here daily pointing at you, laughing, and saying "WOMP! WOMP!" at your red faced rage.

I thought "WOMP! WOMP!" was the sound of Corey Ledendowski in Federal *******in the*** Prison? You going there, too, jmorris? You see, this is how we got Trump. It is a massive Left wing conspiracy, mostly aimed at taking out the DINOs, the ones who since the Clinton co-option have taken over the Democrats. So first, we fool the Republicans into electing someone even more crazy and incompetent than the neo-cons, then, we staff him with perverts, Moochers, Kellyannes and The Stevens. Sit back and wait for this administration to turn into a racist dumpter fire, causing the destruction of the conservative movement in the US, the demise of the Republican party, and the social isolation of jmorris on gab.

Plan is going excellently! Now, let's talk about soybean prices, and how smart Trump is with tariffs! We are going to keep pushing conservatives to do something stupid. It is almost too easy.

Just goes to show even Islamic Shitholes aren't 100% wrong. :)

I was perfectly willing to be a good Libertarian and let the homos have tolerance. But they proved that was a lie and became the sorest winners ever, instantly leapfrogging over tolerance and even acceptance and uping their demand to submission. Screw em, back into the closet and try again in about thirty years or so. Can't make it longer cuz faggots don't live too long and the whole point is for some of these to still be around providing some "living memory" in the community to prevent them repeating their mistake.

Being a member doesn't mean you have to agree with everything the majority of the group does. But, being a member does mean you have more influence over their decisions and views, and often is a sign of goodwill even if there are disagreements.

We absolutely can do something about it.

It is imperative that we immediately stop voting for either the R team or D team. My recommendation is to begin voting Green if one is a liberal and Libertarian if one is a conservative. There is also the Socialist Equality Party, but chances are the Greens and Libertarians have ballot access in any given state.

Once enough Greens and Libertarians are elected at the state level, we must call an Article V convention. (If every last voter immediately followed the advice above, Congress would just be able to do this.) The Constitution must be amended to require approval voting, or some similar system that is provably (mathematically) more democratic than our present system (that is, it better represents the will of the people).
