- Don't complain about lack of options. You've got to pick a few when you do multiple choice. Those are the breaks.

I use uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger, and of course disable JS whenever I can. For some sites JS is essential (e.g. FlightRadar24 etc).

Same here. But also I use Old Opera, mostly with JS off, and for many sites, Vivaldi, which has very strong built-in tracker and ad blocking. I highly recommend it. It's based on chrome code, so it can run most if not all chrome extensions, so I have uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger installed.
In the past I've used many other blockers too.
BTW YouTube won't play unless I disable one or both aforementioned extensions.

Adblockers, on today's internet, re absolutely mandatory. They should be enforced company IT policy, as well. Site doesn't work with an adblocker turned on? Oh well, guess the site should stop being malicious.

I do the same on Firefox. I use NoScript to block JS and temporarily trust sites as necessary

But the big problem is that the script/ad blockers are detectable. That has to change. The ad should be fed to a null device (somewhere in the "cloud", without using my bandwidth), not just blocked.

I use uBlock Origin, uMatrix, Firefox built-ins, and Port Authority [mozilla.org] ("Blocks malicious websites from port-scanning your computer/network and dynamically blocks all LexisNexis endpoints from running their invasive data collection scripts.") - interesting when that popup fires and tells me someone tries to scan me - not always the sites you expect.
I use multiple Firefox profiles for different things, and I've made some changes to my Firefox default profile that mean that, for example, images don't display on the The Guardian website, but show up fine when I run the 'minimal' profile - I have yet to debug that.
I certainly don't think I'm anonymous, but I try to restrict the running of scripts to the minimum necessary (a lot of uMatrix clicking and page reloading needed), and not save cookies. Payment processors linking off left, right, and centre are a real challenge, as I sometimes have to retry a payment 4 or 5 times before I have identified all the necessary scripts/domains needed to actually get my card information accepted and processed. I've been locked out for too many attempts a couple of times.
If I were to use a VPN provider, it would likely be Mullvad.
Given all the nefarious ways sites try to assign a persistent ID, I'm probably being tracked in multiple ways I'm not aware of.

FWIW, uBlock Origin also blocks most web attempts to local hosts if you select the "Block Outsider Intrusion into LAN" filter list. Not sure how much that overlaps with Port Authority. After a quick look, each seem to cover things missing by the other but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Also, is there a statute of limitations on abuse? In the US it is something like 7 years for crimes, so since the site is hosted there you have 5-6 years of your censorship being referenced. Or does privilege put you above the rules? Someone else's major abuse is being upheld for more than a year, and I doubt you want to give them a pass. We're not back in hypocritical territory are we?

The original release was far superior. Version 2.0 posts too much inane crap and is far too much of a crybaby. That might be normal and even expected if you call the waaaahmbulance, but you won't get away with it in the discussions on this site.
Do I have the right to go stand on the sidewalk in front of your house and shout messages about how I worship aristarchus as my lord and my god into a megaphone at all hours of the day and night? When people call the police on me for blasting that message in the middle of the night, am I being persecuted when the police force me to leave?
I'm not being censored on content if that happens. I'm being forced to stop because free speech doesn't give me the right to shout my message wherever, whenever, and however I want to. The residents of the neighborhood, including you, expect that you have the right to a reasonable level of peace and quiet in your homes. When I use a megaphone to blast messages about my worship of aristarchus in the middle of the night, the noise is preventing people from sleeping.
Now, let's say I'm like you and have a massive persecution complex, so I decide to throw a temper tantrum about getting a citation for disturbing the police. My next move is to show up on public grounds, visit the courthouse, and use my megaphone to complain about persecution right outside a courtroom during a trial. Does free speech mean that I have the right to do that?
I'm not going to get away with it at all. Even though it's public property, free speech doesn't give me the right to shout my message as loudly as I want, wherever and whenever I want to, when it interferes with and shuts down other speech. In this case, the loudness of my speech in that location probably interferes with the trial going on inside. Once again, the police aren't going to let me get away with this, and I should expect some more citations coming my way for attempting such a stunt.
I don't have the right to try to shut down other speech by yelling my message so I'm louder than everyone else, so I can prevent them from being heard. No matter how much of a whiny crybaby I might be, or how much I want to express my adoration for aristarchus, that doesn't give me the right to behave in such a manner.
Get it through your thick skull that free speech doesn't mean you have the right to express your message wherever, whenever, and however you want without being forced to stop. Free speech doesn't give you the right to shout as loud as you want anywhere and everywhere to prevent other people from being heard. And free speech doesn't exempt you from the social consequences of being a massive douchebag and everyone else treating you like the complete asshole that you are. Go take your crybaby shit and shove it straight up your ass. The rest of us are sick and tired of seeing it repeatedly on this site.

I didn't like you posting bogus allegations, but when you claimed that you were joking, I offered to let you correct the record and go back to leaving each other alone. You refused and came back with more personal attacks.

IPs are not banned. If they are used excessively to spam the site then they are blocked for 48 hours by software. Nothing at all to do with administration. It is automatic. If you get enough Troll mods the same thing will happen.

If the submissions and comments are signed as 'aristarchus' then it is good enough for me. Are you calling aristarchus a liar now too? If somebody wants to pretend to be a banned person then I will treat them as a banned person. It is the least that I can do for them to show how 'convincing' they are, and it is hardly rocket science. If they use the same connections on IRC too it also helps.

Its our fault! Apparently pointing out that staff made repeated errors and do not enforce rules when they see fit makes dalek freak out about saying he is not a trumper?!? The world has gotten weird and some nincompoops need to blame everyone else. Very trumpy of dalek, but that seems to be a boomer trait anyway.

I suspect I am aristarchus. To be clear, I am not, but I suspect I am. I have been having strange dreams, where rough men in "tactical" garb grab me off the street, and tell me that they know who I really am, and what I have said in fora about the Great Leader Janrinok and the MAGAss Trump. I protest my innocence, and my right to free speech, but they say I cannot prove I am a Citizen, and that my Costco membership card means nothing. So maybe they are right, and I am aristarchus after all. But as the Greater Taoist Sage Chuangzi said, "Am I Chang-chou imagining I am a butterfly, or a butterfly imagining I am Chuang-chou?" Surely you see the difficulty. I am about to turn myself in, and confess to being the butterfly aristarchus, when I wake up.

Day of the dalek said that he is locking up his journal, from no on, to protect it from comments by soylentils that disagree with him. This is sad. But not unexpected. Can no one see that strategy is to get SN to further lock down and lose members, until it ceases to exist? DOTdalek is playing into the hands of those who want to destroy us.

Is there no family member who can intervene, and get him some help, or institutionalization? (And well noted that jelli, most recent editor candidate, has a journal entry on being geriatric, as well. I voted for ublock because I use it to block ads, however thinking about the title of the poll, the real answer is I do nothing.
I assume every piece of hardware I own and the server I connect to and everything in between has backdoors inserted by every corporation and government out there.
I'm not planning a revolution so they leave me alone and I leave them alone. There's nothing to be done about it other than assume all internet comms are compromised, because they are.
