I've mentioned several times before when it has happened that a SPAMmer can get his SPAM onto the front page of the site by opening an account and making a journal entry flogging his crap.

That journal entry then automatically makes it to the list of journal entries on the front page.

It's sad that the nofollow tag for hyperlinks in comments here will limit the full effectiveness WRT search engines of an AC's fitting reply. [soylentnews.org]

Now, isn't it time we gave this abuse proper consideration?
I have also mentioned before that the Gentoo forum, as an example, has a page for reporting abuse and that abusive submissions there are taken down quickly as a result.
