Donald Trump and his wife Melania earned about $150 million in 2005 and paid federal taxes of about $38 million, the White House said tonight.
The vast majority of that was through Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT), which President Trump and numerous Republican lawmakers have proposed to remove as part of tax reform. If AMT were to be removed, he would have paid $5.3 Million, or approximately 3.5% of his income.
