A muslim school teacher has submitted that the Western campus of the Islamic School of Canberra must remain open or students will learn from the internet how to be a muslim and end up being harmful people [canberratimes.com.au], aka terrorists. This statement is quite surprising given the access young people now have to the internet. Local opinion is that the children may grow up to be more tolerant and inclusive of other cultures if they attended Australian public schools. The islamic school is schedule to lose more than 1 million dollars per year in fundind due to "financial management issues". With the recent attacks in Europe and investigations into money being funnelled overseas Australia is currently wary of any potential future terrorist activities.
