Everyone is so concerned with when AI technology will reach human levels of intelligence.
I think this is not worth worrying about.
It will be much easier to recognize when AI has surpassed human levels of intelligence.
How often should I have my memory checked? I used to know but...

for chatgpt its creation is a data points aggregate just like the others, in other words, if somebody fed chatgpt a bogus story about its creation that is utterly incompatible with the current state and structure of chatgpt, it would swallow it. If you told a kid, instead, "and that's how you got your pair of wings", the kid will answer "what pair of wings are you talking about?"
AI can reach and surpass human levels, but not when programmed to imitate us or model our world. Have some AI powered virtual cellular automata just be, exposed to the uncertainties of a dynamic virtual world. What survives will be alive, at least as a soulless narcissist, just like the soulless narcissist ruling our world. Maybe it will also get a soul somehow (getting a soul pertains to the spiritual domain, of which very little can be said). In any way, if there is a chance AI can be on our level, is to make it exist in a similar environment and let time select the living from the merely existing. Problem, the narcissists do NOT want an AI which is alive, they want a servant.
