Linux user. Tries to keep feeding the brain with stuff. Husband and father of a young lady and a younger son who has autism/is autistic... that nut didn't fall far from this nut-tree, I'll tell ya: he gets it honestly. Now if only he'd sleep..............

I believe that God gave us the science, curiousity and intelligence to one day conclusively prove that God does not exist.

Tonight i had a breakthrough with my son!

His norm is to ask for a drink by handing you his cup, or by pointing or by saying 'rink'.
Tonight, i was back at forcing words from him, but this time when getting him to say "I. Want. A. Drink", i moved my arm down and up with every word. Did this a couple times, then used his arm.
Each time i moved his arm down and up again, i said "I. want. a. rink." Then did it again without saying anything but the starting "I."
He then proceeded to finish with "I. want. a. drink."

BIG BREAKTHROUGH, as he usually has to have sentences dragged out of him slowly and prefers the one word answer (so do i: while i admit he gets through to you what he wants when he says "rink", getting him to repeat words and sentences is the next step in removing the tech we have to haul around).
So, it was nice to see this from him. Or...

It.
was.
nice.

(Problem is, as it was with him saying "Butterfly" once and only once no matter how much I praised him and tried to get him to say it again, this may be a one time thing and he may never do it again...

...but will attempt it again tomorrow after he has time to sleep on it, lol.

Of course, as great as this is, careful what you wish for! Sometimes a son will talk your ear off, and your problem is how to get him to shut up! But perhaps that a small problem. Congrats, Gaaark!

Yes, congratulations to Gaaark. His son learned to do sentences. Big part of being a judge. He learns that, he learns the guilty or innocent, he learns how to wear the robe, then he'll be ready. And we need so many judges, I fired so many terrible judges that my predecessors put in. They said, "Sir, we'd like to hire about five or six thousand more judges." Five or six thousand! For SC, for immigration, for many things. Many things!!!

Yes, actually: if he ever does start talking, it will be non-stop talking about hyper-repetition of "Spiderman", or batteries (for some odd reason, he does say batteries), or youtube or....

It will be one topic of conversation ALLLLLL DAY!, LOL.

THEN, i'll start drinking again! ;)
