A new piece of malware dubbed "The Moon" has been spreading among Linksys E1000, E1200, and E2400 series routers. It exploits a vulnerability in HNAP (Home Network Administration Protocol) using publicly available code. See http://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/31683/ for details. All the malware seems to do at the moment is spread, but researchers are still investigating the potential future uses.
