In Florida, it is a priority to allow school shootings, but teachers using approved books in a class of high school students, causing them to THINK, must be prevented.
But hey, it's Florida. Kids need to be able to get guns as easily as they can get candy. Maybe easier. After all, we could regulate candy because it can be consumed in excess.

Ok, it's technologically feasible and there's motive. But it's dependent on a single source who might be outright lying or not even exist. My take is that if the US really did this, it'll come out in a firmer form than this. They leak.
But we need to keep in mind that this would be a trivial operation for Russia to set up. They would have solid info on US covert operations and could fake it well enough for a journalist.

As a US citizen following the news, I'm really tired of the way the US is selectively disclosing information in a way that escalates tensions. Intrusive surveillance by both sides has been going on for a while. Balloons included, this is nothing new.
