I have been trying off and on all day both here at home (uverse) and at work (comcast) and haven't been able to get slashdot.org to come up. Site works fine (for relative values of fine) on my Sprint cell phone.

If I clear my cookies and cache, I get the redirect to beta just fine (now that I'm not logged in) but then beta just spins until it times out.

Wonder if I somehow pissed someone off enough that they banned both of the IPs I use, or if routing in this part of the world is just fucked right now. Oh well, twice is coincidence, I'll have to see how long it takes for the site to stop coming up on my cellphone.

I have a numeric Karma again! (and it's zero) How long has slashdot been hiding the karma value? Is the codebase really that old or is it just configured to show Karma as a number?

I kind of miss D2 now that I'm using the original discussion format again. Hopefully in-place comment expansion is on the table to add back in (ZOMG Javascript!)
