Latest 'Bombshell' From Trump Raid Delivers Side-Splitting Hilarity
I’ve got an admission to make, and you may want to sit down for this. I’m ashamed to say that I got fooled by a headline today, not because I thought it was real when it wasn’t, but because I thought it was satire when it was real.
I know what you are thinking, but before you call me a moron, take a look for yourself and tell me this doesn’t look like something from The Babylon Bee.
F.B.I. Found 48 Empty Folders That Had Contained Classified Documents at Trump’s Home https://t.co/uJqPfBW58r
— Adam Goldman (@adamgoldmanNYT) September 2, 2022
Yes, you read that right. The FBI supposedly found 48 folders that were empty but once held classified information while raiding Donald Trump’s Florida residence. We literally went from “he stole the nuclear codes” to “he had some empty folders” in the course of a few weeks. If that doesn’t mimic parody, nothing does.
Just as hilarious as the original story, though, is that the lunatics on the anti-Trump right are actually running with this as a major bombshell.
I think the folders had copies of the Steele dossier, the pee tape, and Alfa Bank datahttps://t.co/KsVZhgKXEE

Yes Trump packed all the boxes dunce https://t.co/s5Q5XjrBsR
— Julie Kelly ?? (@julie_kelly2) September 2, 2022
The insinuation here is that the bad orange man sold or destroyed the documents that were once inside the folders with classified banners. Yet, there’s no evidence of that, and I’m not even sure that claim is being made by the DOJ. What we are seeing is simply an inventory from the execution of the search warrant. It’s perfectly possible that the folders ended up in the boxes after having their classified contents turned back in by White House officials. More likely is that the folders were empty and just ended up in the jumble of documents taken by Trump.
Does anything encapsulate the deranged hysteria surrounding Trump more than seeing people losing their minds over empty folders? Here we are, though, with another news cycle being driven by another government leak that ultimately adds up to nothing. It’s almost as if the DOJ is purposely trying to harm the Republicans before the mid-terms by keeping this idiocy rolling, right? Nah, couldn’t be.
But hey, maybe we really will see Trump frog-marched from Mar-a-Lago for the grand crime of having empty folders. Would you put anything past the Biden DOJ at this point? I certainly wouldn’t, and the press is going to keep losing their minds at every mention of the former president no matter what happens.
Still, in the end, my money remains right where it’s been, i.e. that this is all politics and that the DOJ doesn’t want the hassle of breaking the Hillary Clinton precedent in order to prosecute a former president over empty folders. Take these “bombshells” for what they are, which are partisan tools to distract voters from Biden’s incompetency.

The idea that no. Four Five didn't have those docs fails the "what will happens if I drop this beer glass?" test. The only reason he's not behind bars this very second is that the both the DOJ and CIA are wanting to track his movements (using methods both legal and illegal) in order to ID the location of those and other illegally possessed documents.

You're attempting to compare apples to dishwashers, but here's a bit of a summary of why Clinton's potentially sloppy handling of classified material is far different from Trump's:
They investigated Clinton's sloppiness, yet found nothing sufficient to charge her with a crime. Nobody is saying that if she had actually done anything to warrant it, she shouldn't be charged. On the contrary, most sane people believe that she should have been investigated (and she was,) and charged, if such action was warranted.
Many of the seemingly crazy folks on the US "right" are demanding that Trump not even be investigated, let alone potentially charged for his criminal misdeeds. That's the insane level of hypocrisy and outright denial of reality on display right now!
Trump isn't allowed to keep ANY of the documents they requested, subpoenaed, then eventually recovered via search warrant, CLASSIFIED OR NOT.

Empty folders. I'm not sure you understand how those empty folders work. The clerk has piles and piles of folders. Someone asks for a document, the clerk takes the document from a filing cabinet, fills out all the spaces on the folder, as well as filling out the document log, inserts documents, hands the folder to the person requesting the documents. Minutes, hours, days, even weeks later, the documents are returned, clerk removes documents from folder, files documents, and we used to draw a line through the entries on the folder. Just a single line, like strike through text on your computer. Then, the empty folder is returned to the pile of empty folders, awaiting next use. The folder, in and of itself, is meaningless. The most you can do with that folder, is to determine how many times it has been used, by whom, and get some general idea of what documents it has contained in the past. Titles of documents are not always informative, unless you know what the document is.
Furthermore, as a rule, the clerk seldom gives the original document. Whoever needs that document is likely to get a copy. Upon returning the document, the copy is likely to be destroyed, and that destruction documented in the clerk's log.
You're reading far too much into possession of classified document folders.

You mean that withdrawal instigated and initiated by your guy, that former president, Trump?
Yeah, it was messy. It was always going to be messy. Afghanistan has always been a messy situation.
What of it?! What specifically would you have done differently, had you been in charge?
What would you have put in the agreement if it were you instead of Trump "negotiating" it?
Inflation is the rate of increase in prices over a given period of time. Inflation is typically a broad measure, such as the overall increase in prices or the increase in the cost of living in a country.
The president of the US has very little direct involvement in what the economy does from day to day, other than coercing a general course trajectory over time with general policy decisions. What do you believe should be done differently, or what could Trump have done differently, either when he was in office for four years, charting that general course, or what actions he could magically take to mitigate the effects of the current worldwide problems if he were currently president now?
LOL... You mean like Trump surrounded him with all the best people? 🤣
