Poway is near San Diego. Isn't that where Ethanol-Fueled claims to live now or in the past?

Let's get this out of the way: I don't claim to have been particularly sympathetic to MDC and his problems.

What I see is that some of the same people expressing regret at MDC's passing express political views that make getting access to care and treatment for mental health problems more difficult, if not impossible. We all know whom I am talking about.

Is this hypocrisy of the first order? Perhaps that regret should be channeled into espousing policies that would provide access to the right care for people like MDC?

Trump Fans Sink Savings Into ‘Iraqi Dinar’ Scam

Yes, reading the article it is clear that this is not new -- the scam was operating during the Obama years, and one anecdote does not really tell us about how widespread this is.

But still, I am going to laugh at how Trump fans were conned using Trump's words. In this case, though, it wasn't Trump running the con.

I received an email that spamassasin tagged as SPAM. I often find them amusing to read (I know, easily amused).

It claimed to have hacked my system via a compromised router and that the author claimed to have logged visits to websites of an unsavory nature (I don't remember the actual text). It said that, normally, the author would have encrypted my files and demanded money to decrypt, but because of the claim about websites that I visit, the author would simply blackmail me about those.

There was no return address. Only a bitcoin wallet that I was supposed to deposit bitcoin into.

Which brings the interesting question: even if I had deposited money into the wallet, how was the blackmailer supposed to know that I had paid off him/her? I suppose that the blackmailer could have set up multiple wallets, with one dedicated to each victim, but this is almost as ridiculous as the idea that my systems had been hacked.

Do people really fall for this? Nothing in the email was remotely true. The email address it was sent to was "ftp@", which was a huge hint that this was completely bogus. Then, there is the simple fact that my full browsing history might be mildly embarrassing, but no more than that.

If posters here think that the Democrats are the authoritarian party, how do they feel about Trump's suggestion to take away people's weapons before any due process?

Isn't that a clear violation of the fifth amendment? Isn't that a clear indication that Trump's preferred operating mode is that of an authoritarian dictator?

Where is the condemnation of Trump for this from the right-wing posters here at Soylent News?
