I was reading this thread : real critical thinking and it inspired some thoughts.

What if the three-D chess theory of Trump's intelligence is actually a vast underestimate? What if he has a Hari Seldon level of intelligence and foresight, and could see that the frog was going to be slowly boiled, and that his current behaviour is the only way out. It could all be a giant act provoking outrage, and actions that fight back against totalitarianism, fascists, corruption, and censorship.

He has single-handedly generated vast opposition to the creeping totalitarianism that was in place long before he appeared on the political scene. There are demands that Congress take back the powers they have delegated to the office of president. There are states that are pushing states rights more than they have for decades, if not centuries. He has just about caused the corrupt DNC to implode, and the GOP are also tearing themselves apart. Electoral reform is being demanded. Other parties may start increasing in influence for the first time in generations.

Everybody is now looking for the endemic corruption that was previously ignored. The spotlight is being turned on every politician and senior bureaucrat in an effort to undermine Trump, but this has the side effect of rooting out corruption and malfeasance wherever it occurs.

There are strong demands that the USA stop waging wars for profit around the world.

The rights of the people against the government have been brought into focus, and are now being pushed by both sides.

A hundred years from now, will historians look back at 2016 -2024 and say "if not for Trump's self-sacrifice, integrity, intelligence, and acting ability this is where America would have become a fascist dictatorship" ?
