Anybody read his classics as a kid?
From Fox News:
A publisher has altered children's books by Roald Dahl – the author of several well-received children's books that were later made into hit movies, including "Matilda," "James and the Giant Peach," and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" – to remove language now deemed offensive.
Puffin, the publisher of Dahl's classic works, has hired sensitivity readers to make changes to certain portions of the author's wording in the U.K. editions as part of an effort to ensure the books "can continue to be enjoyed by all today." (emphasis mine)

Dahl was a product of his times, let it be. i.e. If one's *-ist forebear isn't appropriate for modern audiences then maybe stop reading dated Harry Potter and adopt some current era writers.
BTW, this isn't confined to 'woke' lefties - I miss the 'thees' and 'thous' when one's favourite Christmas carols have been butchered in the name of modern English - the scansion is all wrong and the nuance of the original rhyme is lost.
And Roald isn't around to defend himself - at least current artists have the right to self-censor, e.g. the Rolling Stones, still touring, might not perform some of their more 'risque' lyrics of the 1960s.

Now I do not believe the books that you are discussing were available to kindergarten children but you will see that puberty may have already begun at the mid-point of the elementary school bracket and therefore it is a valid subject to be discussed using the appropriate terminology with some elementary school children.
If the books were available in a kindergarten class then I suspect it is an exceptional occurrence and should be treated as such, and not used to whip people into a frenzy or as an excuse to start banning books that are enjoyed by children all around the world.

If you want to make a book more relevant to life today, go ahead. But, don't attribute the asinine censoring to the original author. Write an introduction, making it clear that you are a woke snowflake, and that you are creating a derivative work because the original author left you butthurt. Then, you can censor out everything and anything, thereby probably ruining the book entirely, while erasing much of the historical value of the book. And, you won't sell it to anyone who isn't woke.

As far as i can tell you are the first to have asked for whatever weird quirk you are discussing to be included there. If you are referring to the poll timing out then that is a normal action that applies to all stories, journals and polls. It is there to prevent abuse (which we have already had) when people make comments and links to unwanted material in stories that they think will not be looked at by staff. After the first couple of weeks, how many comments in the latest poll have been on topic?
AC's rallying cry to 'take over the poll' which was made a few days ago doesn't give me confidence that the abuse would not occur again. The only thing that made me smile was his terrible sense of timing.

Something I was going to touch upon.
Jan's quote reminds me of a Jackass tour of Europe. The performances were essentially glorified carnival side shows with multiple acts. The participants employed over the top theatrics to enhance the apparent extremes of the pain they inflicted on each other, and the extent of the self mutilation. There is some actual pain of course. One act in particular involved Steve O stapling different items to himself with a T-50 stapler. The finale of that particular segment was for Steve to pull out his scrotum and staple it to his leg.
In the US, and other realms, the typical demographic for such display was teens and drunken twenty somethings. But when the show loaded into a town in Finland, (Pretty sure this is correct. It has been a long while) the performers were shocked to see that the audience was comprised predominantly of children, accompanied by their parents! The perception of the spectacle was quickly changed from hard core and extreme, to childish and silly. To top it off, the next day there was a review of the show in the local paper accompanied by a rather large photograph of Steve stapling his scrotum to his leg. The shockers were shocked!
Well adjusted children indeed. They certainly didn't need to see that show. But their parents were there with them, and likely able to explain some of the tricks involved, and how it was ultimately a silly act in an attempt to elicit a particular response from the audience.

As for porn, it's too prevalent. Any curious kid can figure it out. Back in my day, 8mm...buddy w/ a Playboy...etc...are you on my lawn?
If a kid isn't getting guidance at home, from their parents or siblings, about sex and their changing body while navigating puberty, they are kinda forced into learning about it from interactions w/ their peers at school and in the neighborhood. But who needs to ban books when everyone has a phone?
