And everything your "whistleblower" gave you is second/third hand.

So, there ya go.. We can all go home now... Tune in the BBC and watch Brexit. Something noticeable will happen in a month.

The economy? Will probably get through Christmas alright.

Impeachment... Cui bono? Up to 1.4 mil for Facebook. And the campaign claims they gathered 8.5 mil in 24 hours. There will be an additional 10 mil spent across all media by the RNC and his campaign.

*sigh* I need a way to cash in on this.

Edit: Fixed the header to accommodate those who wish to believe I was unaware.

Fusta is our resident edgelord whose entire political worldview can be summed up as "both parties are exactly identical, no differences at all, and I'm superior to all of you for thinking this." Unthinking, knee-jerk cynicism is apparently cool in his book. Leaves more CPU cycles free for thinking of ways to make fun of the rest of us I suppose? Smug takes a lot of processor time...

As we watch the Dems put on the same butthurt show as the Reps did when Clinton was president, we can see that there is indeed not much difference.
In fact, the colors currently associated in media with the parties were the exact opposite in 1992, and pretty much no one noticed the change.

So can we just take a moment to compare the accusations of bad behavior? Lying about getting a blow job (when sex scandals actually meant anything) vs. multiple treasonous crimes.

It is not my fault you Republicans are so morally bankrupt that you believe a con-man when he says it can't be a crime because he wouldn't be dumb enough to do it so publicly.

Ah well, can't help the brainwashed. No I won't bother getting into all of his crimes because you already know what they are and simply believe the idiot when he says "witch hunt!"

I'll just enjoy watching the GOP destroy itself on a pyre of hypocrisy. Well deserved after all the shit Obama and Hillary got, who Runaway the village dunce says are guilty of every accusation possible while the media is just "unfair" to Trump.

So much to unpack here ...

                "... not my fault ..."

Nobody's accusing you of anything except playing fast-and-loose with the truth in a hypocritical sort of way.

                "... you Republicans ..."

Assuming that your counterparts are republicans (I certainly am not), you're painting them with a broad brush, ignoring many republicans who are firmly anti-Trump and have been before his election. Your phrasing doesn't match the facts on the ground.

                "... are so morally bankrupt..."

Oh, so this is about morals. Well, if it were about morals then all the reflections on the morals of other politicians suddenly become, instead of whataboutism, relevant reflections. After all, if moral bankruptcy is a problem, surely it's a problem everywhere, right?

                Right?

"... you believe a con-man when he says it can't be a crime because he wouldn't be dumb enough to do it so publicly."

You're presuming that the person in question is a con-man. Inasmuch as this can be differentiated from any politican in existence, it would rest upon a substantiated accusation. So far, despite the most febrile efforts of his dedicated opponents, we have no accusation that has been made to stick. Or are we supposed to take other politicians' word for it, but not his? I smell a double standard. Oh, but that's whataboutism, right?

"Ah well, can't help the brainwashed."

                Thou hast said it, Caiaphas.

"No I won't bother getting into all of his crimes because you already know what they are and simply believe the idiot when he says "witch hunt!""

So you won't even bother with the burden of proof, but everybody's supposed to take your word for it. Right. In unrelated news, just take my word for it about this lovely bridge that I have for sale ...

"I'll just enjoy watching the GOP destroy itself on a pyre of hypocrisy."

It's not hypocrisy! You're just engaging in whatabo... uh, I forgot. That only works when it's someone to the left of Nancy Pelosi trying to hide their hypocrisy, right?

"Well deserved after all the shit Obama and Hillary got, who Runaway the village dunce says are guilty of every accusation possible while the media is just "unfair" to Trump."

Right. It's totally unfair to judge democrats by the same standards that we apply to republicans. Kind of like... dare I say it, political affirmative action? Democrats need the help getting into office because of systemic disadvantages!

... and if you take that seriously, let me return to the topic of this bridge. It's a great bridge. Beautiful.

That would mean there's lots of tapes, implicating everybody, which is perfectly plausible, but this is why we have this Mexican Standoff. Without real evidence in the courtroom, we are totally dependent on the credibility of witnesses and their testimony. Precisely, this happens over and over.

So, what use is all that info if you can't use it in court?

There are plenty of other ways to use it. Blackmail, for one. Insider trading, for another.

The standoff that evolved in D.C is that whoever holds the Executive gets to ignore the law like this pretty freely, but /not when acting against insiders of either party./ Nixon *should* have been impeached for plenty of other things, but what actually caused him to resign? He got caught spying directly on the other letter. That broke the insider consensus, sort of like breaking the blue wall for a cop we might imagine. And that's very similar to what Trump did here, the case can be made, it sounds persuasive enough if you're already in that camp, but in the end it's a bit weak. I can't see the Senate convicting him and unfortunately I *can* see losses for D's all over the country next year as a result.

All primate, heck, mammalian politics is fundamentally rooted in the same biological basis. Dogs excrete urine on trees to mark their territory, we excrete ink on paper for the same purpose. Chimps throw feces at each other when they're angry, we throw "smart bombs" and bullets around.

Not even primate, not even animate! It's universal. Everything, people, animals, planets, and galaxies will grow as big as they can to dominate their environment until they either run out of fuel or material to accrete, or explodes. We are so very natural in every way. But we express it through positively dreadful theater. How many visiting aliens do you think could really sit through Hamlet, or Harrisburg, whatever that guy's name was?

For you morally bankrupt Republicans that seem schizophrenic when it comes to the Constitution -

"No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

... which has precisely nothing to do with the head of the executive, who is also the face of foreign policy, talking to a foreign head of government about common interests in law enforcement.

"There's this guy. He's been up to shady shit. He's been up to it for a while. Wouldja look into it on your side? Please? It's been a while, 'mkay?"

Oh, wait, we forgot. It's the orange dumpster fire that did it. Sorry, carry on with your regularly scheduled conniption.
