I also find the reversal of attitudes toward the CIA, FBI, etc. somewhat amusing. How long before we are kissing the feet of the DEA? Politics is not just local, it's personal.

The dems' *good cop/bad cop* routine is bogus and deceitful. In trying to appeal to opposing factions in the party, they have to be that way. So I can't really argue with what woks, such is animal psychology, not even the level of human tribalism
If liberals really want a voice, they must divest themselves and be their own agent. There's a whole bunch of people out there that don't vote, enough to put the dems and the GOP out to pasture. Real liberals do have a chance. They just have to take it.

It is just the refusal to see things as more than black and white. Reps do bad, then Dems must be good; Dems do bad, so Reps must be good. Sure, group X might be better than group Y at Z, for various values of X, Y, and Z, but that doesn't make that group good. The lesser of two evils is still evil, otherwise we wouldn't call them "evil" in the first place.

The Democrats are better on some issues, but the party is still filled with authoritarian corporatists and needs major reforms. That's what the Justice Democrats are about: Taking over the Democratic party by primarying corrupt scum and replaces them with progressives who take no corporate money. We're never going to get anywhere if all we do is say, 'Yeah, well, the Democrats are still kind of better than the Republicans!' That's not good enough.

I've reached the "burn it all down and chuck 'em all into Hellfire" stage, with a few obvious exceptions for people like Sanders. This system has needed an enema for almost 50 years, ever since Nixon was allowed to get away with his life for what he did. If the swamp creatures ever did leave or get chased out, who would take over? We've already tried lawyers, actors, preachers, oligarchs, soldiers, comedians, cops, farmers, and spies. Bankers always get appointed someplace without actually being elected. Through pettiness, wishful thinking, blind devotion to ideology, incompetence, and corruption, they've brought us to where we are today.

Just increase the turnover. The main problem is voter tribalism and reelecting them for 30 years. We have to do the oversight like any boss would. I'm afraid we have to take responsibility for the people we elect. We put them there, we have to take them out. Garbage collection is our duty.
