SoylentNews is about a third funded for the six month period through the end of December, a bit over $1200 out of $3500 asked. Seems pretty cheap to me for what's offered, and only needs a few more people to open their wallets to stay funded through the end of this year.

Nobody speaks for anyone else here, including you. There is no need or reason for your "taking to task" - it didn't happen nor is it your business even if it did. What's sad here is I could copy/paste years your post as a reply to your post, and it would be just as valid. There's been a lot of empty talk in this discussion, just like your post above, of reason, good faith, reality, self-awareness, etc. But a tell that there's something deeply wrong with these posts is their infinite reusability. You can use them anytime, anywhere with as much relevance as now. That is, there is zero context and content to these posts.
A good post can't be so reused. My belief is that a good post has details, and other features that indicate one has thought about the subject and demonstrate a willingness to engage in honest discussion. That you expressly evade doing that shows us that you have problems with these things.
You don't help anyone with these empty quips. But I doubt that is the point of them. Rather it's just a poor rhetorical trick for dodging real, interesting debate.
If SN really were as useless and unimportant as the one or possibly more AC claimed in my journal, then why are you here? Why did these posts crop up so quickly (the first was within 15 minutes of the writing of the journal) if nobody was interested in SN?

My take is that it's not that hard to make a good post. Or to leave. To instead, occupy that peculiar, uncomfortable spot where you make a considerable effort to make noise without adding anything productive to the discussion or the community, indicates to me that noise is really what you want, not fewer "slightly less crazy republicans" or "good faith" argument.
