Micron (Crucial) is launching 24 GB and 48 GB DDR5-5600 RAM for both desktops and laptops:

Presumably, some 4-slot systems will be able to support 192 GB of RAM, but ARK currently lists 128 GB maximum for recent Intel desktop parts. They have put inaccurate memory information on ARK before, so YMMV.
Memory speeds could suffer if you use 4 modules:

It also doesn't use any XML for configuration. It doesn't have any XmlParserFactoryFactory type classes. That is, you set up and instantiate an XmlParserFactoryFactory and configure it such that it can produce any number of XmlParserFactory's to your particular needs. Then once you have an XmlParserFactory you can configure that to produce an XmlParser to your taste.

How could I have forgotten about XML!? Although advocating for that here will, sadly, be as successful as your attempts at advocating for Java. Personally I don't understand it. The fact that you have to convince programmers that using the structure inherent in your data can be a good idea. In the mean time they are perfectly content with forcing the predefined structures provided by the language onto that data. Ironically, it seems that many of those that resist that idea in their data language are the most vocal advocates of it in their programming languages. Is it the solution for everything? No. But everything has their place, even XML (and GC too!).
That said, your XMLParserFactoryFactory hits close to home. I've actually seen that pattern (although it was an INI parser) in production code. The parser factory factory was configured based on your dialect and created parser factories. The parser factory took some form of specification and produced parsers for that specification. The parser itself took the data and gave the results. I wish I could say that was the only time I've seen factory factories in production code, but that would be a lie. For some reason, only one example I can think of wasn't written in Java. I still haven't nailed down why that is though.

I don't need a 64Mb module, what I need if free speech. Restore aristarchus, or face the consequences. It is nice to have some hardware tech news, but if it is at the cost of right-wing nut-job censorship? No thank you. So, SoylentNews, allows anonymous AC posting again. If you do not, well, you have already seen what will happen. As much as I appreciate McGrew, and Swiss Bradley, they are not the best posters, and the fact that khallow has just run amok and spread his, um, "seed" everywhere is just gross. So perhaps it is too late to go back to the original promise of SoylentNews? I, for one, would welcome the attempt. But looks like the "stick-up-the-butt" British faction has taken control. Been nice, everyone!

What I am getting from all this, is that we will have 36Gb or 42Gb memory modules before aristarchus is restored. We might look to these as the signs of the coming Great Arkleseizure, or the Resurrection of BuckFeta. How much RAM does it take to permanently ban someone, anyway?

If aristarchus isn't unbanned, you're going to make SN "face the consequences?" That sounds a lot like threats you made previously, as I deescribed here [soylentnews.org], where you threatened to create lots of sock puppet accounts with your Cyberian Tiger bot. What are young going to do, post some more spam and create more sock puppet accounts, as a temper tantrum when you don't get your way?
Of course, you're nothing but a paper (Cyberian) tiger, too inept to even competently disguise the source of your feeble attacks, let alone actually inflict any real damage on SN.
The original promise of SN was a site where the community was respectful, didn't spam the site with shitposts, and certainly didn't dox other users. It's too bad you're not interested in those ideals.

Discussion is much reduced. Moderation is wilding. Front page has gone to hell out of disinterest. SoylentNews has suffered a massive loss of reputation amoung the internetattia, from which it is not soon to recover. Censorship, and the protection of the alt-right, are now what this site is known for. And none of this is my doing, nor that of the parent poster, and certainly not aristarchus'.
