    There are still a couple of places here in town that take only cash. When the tornadoes hit here in March 2006 power was out for a week, meaning the bank was closed, ATMs didn't work, and most places that stayed open in the dark or had emergency lighting could only take cash; no power, no credit card readers.

    My cats would have gone hungry had I not found an old store that still had the old fashioned card reader that used carbon paper.
