It's been a long, hard road to this point, but I'm pleased to announce that effective immediately, we are officially accepting subscriptions to SoylentNews. Subscription support is an important step in helping make SoylentNews successful as an independent entity that is fully funded by its users. In case you don't remember, here's the rundown of subscription features:

  • Subscriber badge (toggleable)
  • Early access to features
  • Exemption from ads if we ever run any
  • Full comment histories/access to database-intensive operations
  • No rate limiting or spam filtering

You can purchase a subscription on your user panel, or by clicking this link. Subscriptions are $20/year, and you can be reminded via email when that period is coming to an end via subscription settings. All payments are currently processed by PayPal, but we hope to add new merchant support in the future.

Here's hoping to seeing lots of stars in the near future!

The very second that you do add other merchants I'll get a subscription.

Paypal is a criminal banking organization that uses strong arm tactics and legal fuckery to steal people's money. May their genitals be itchy and burning :)

But, yeah, Paypal is not for everyone. Hope anyone that does have an account is donating.

I like to pay for goods and services with live poultry. That way, the CIA and Google can't track me. Do you plan to support this payment option in the near future?

Any change that you'll support Google Wallet (1)? Honestly, I want to support SN, but object to Paypal's terms of service--or at least how they execute their service.

    (1) yeah, i know it's google, but I already have an account b/c of Android/Gmail/G+/sites/Chrome/search..... It's like the NSA, at this point, why bother trying to hide it?
