With COVID out of control, Biden unveils hefty vaccine mandates:

President Joe Biden on Thursday unveiled a sweeping six-pronged plan to try to regain control over the COVID-19 pandemic, which is wildly raging once again in the US.

[...] The main focus of the president's "Path out of the Pandemic" plan is on reducing the number of unvaccinated people in the country. As such, the plan's most prominent elements are hefty vaccination requirements for millions of federal employees, health care workers, school employees, and even employees of private businesses.

Biden signed an executive order Thursday requiring COVID-19 vaccines for millions of federal workers plus millions more federal contractors. The new vaccine mandate eliminates a previous option that allowed federal workers to undergo regular testing in lieu of vaccination.

In addition to mandating vaccines for federal workers, Biden will also require vaccination for over 17 million health care workers who work at facilities that receive federal funding. The administration had previously required vaccination for all staff of federally funded nursing homes. The new requirements will extend vaccine mandates to hospitals, dialysis facilities, ambulatory surgical settings, and home health agencies—most facilities that receive Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements.

[...] The administration is also working on a rule—to be implemented through the Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration—that will require employers with 100 or more workers to ensure that their workforce is fully vaccinated or submits to regular COVID-19 testing. The rule is expected to apply to over 80 million employees nationwide. OSHA is also working on a separate rule that will require those employers to provide paid time off to get vaccinated.

For schools, Biden will require vaccination for the nearly 300,000 staff in federal Head Start and Early Head start programs. He will also put pressure on governors to get all teachers and school staff vaccinated. Last, the administration will push more schools to implement regular testing, which will be funded by $10 billion the administration already allocated to schools earlier this year.

You're right, I shouldn't worry. The idiots are too numerous to have that vaccine threaten my comfort levels any time soon.

Well, in true red-white-and-blue American fashion, when it comes to vaccines: I got mine. Screw you.

And in this case, I don't even have any problems with my conscience because you literally had your chance.

(with "you" not addressing you personally but these people who "think for themselves", which essentially means they let YouTube and Reddit decide what's good for their health rather than science)

Remember that bold verbiage when you come for your fourth revaccination, an year from now.

If some ex-antivaxxer holdout will be going to get the jab next to future you, he will be 5 shots ahead of you in this nice Russian roulette game.

What Russian roulette? I'd rather take my chances with a vaccine that has a side effect rate that borders a lottery jackpot than a lethal disease that I have a pretty good chance to get every time I spend more than an hour with other people in the same room.

If you want to talk death rates, at least have half a clue about statistics before you do, so you don't look like a total idiot.

Your calling someone else idiot, does not magically make you smart, nor even make you look smart. Remember that fact, even if some manual taught you otherwise.
If YOU want to talk death rates, notice that the number of those who died from COVID is 1/10 or less (depending on age) of those who died from other causes, for those under 50; and if we limit ourselves to the COVID pneumonia (that thing media constantly scare people with), it is less than 1/10 for ALL age groups.
See, if I have 90%+ chance to die from something unrelated, WHAT FOR should I repeatedly go tempt the fate with your beloved vaccine? No matter what its side effect rate does finally turn out being.

Hmm. Let's see what people die from in the US [cdc.gov], shall we?

And let's take a look at the Covid related deaths [worldometers.info]. Of course this number represents 1.5 years, so we might want to adjust it. I trust you can do the math.

Well, let's be honest here, it's hard to beat heart diseases and cancer in the death statistics, they are just way, way too far in the lead. But being third ain't so bad, is it?

Now, of course Covid preys mostly on the elderly but guess what: So do heart diseases and cancer. A 65 year old is roughly ten times as likely to die in any given year than a 35 year old. Of any reason.

In other words, I'd still rather take my chances with your "Russian roulette". But hey, as long as there's people like you, infection rates stay up and I can stay in my home office.

In other words, carry on! And thank you for risking, and maybe losing, your life just for my comfort.

Your being unable (or is it "unable"?) to find the data, in this day and age, and dragging in Worldometer of all things, instead, is really pathetic. Isn't it?
The word salad that follows, is totally irrelevant, as I suspect you perfectly well know.
As to you taking your chances with whatever, it is totally and absolutely not my business. As to vaccines having anything much to do with infection rates, if the examples of Israel and Mongolia did not enlighten you already... well, let's hope placebo effect works for you. Unshakable faith can be useful sometimes even if wrong.
