I started drinking Diet Coke in 1984 when it first appeared. It tasted weird, but after one weak I was accustomed to it.
There was a lot of controversy about aspartame back then. Some said that it might cause brain damage. No long term studies had been done. If it were true, you wouldn't know about the brain damage for maybe twenty years.
Here we are now 38 years later. I'm still drinking Diet Coke. I am not aware of any brain damage. 🤯 If there were any brain damage, lawyers could argue whether it was caused by Diet Coke or by programming in Java.
