    George 2 on an ICL1900e was the first machine that ran code written by me (written in Fortran4, Algo60, and PLAN (1900 assembler).

    I did have prior contact with IBJOB on an IBM709 and later an IBM7090 through helping my mum, but that was mostly helping fix the JCL code.

    Technically, the Georges were (are?) not operating systems. IIRC George N ran as an application program. The operating system was the mysterious entity known as "the executive".
