sadly quite a while into this 'experiment' and the basics have not changed. It maybe that there is NO good way to mod stuff but while this place tried I don't see any real difference in approach or results, just a smaller community with a less diverse opinion base and a more reactive crew...Good luck in the future and Be Well.....

What are you talking about?
We've got fucking lunatics like jmorris, we've got cold
hearted psychopaths like khallow, we got fruit loops like
aristarchus, gun-toting injuns (buzz), honest to god rednecks
with strange rational streaks (runaway (and i wish he would)),
we got libertarian mystics (cunt^Hrir-wolf), we got bleedin'
hearts by the fucking dozen, we got beautiful traps, we got
commies (gewg), we got trolls who write poorly disguised
odes to their own childhoods, we even got some fucking born again
xtians who think its a good idea for humanity to breed itself into
nonfuckingexistence!
Less diverse my fucken arse.

I check posts at -1 for abuses and don't see anything that doesn't belong there.
Posts are sometimes unfairly modded down but usually not below their initial score. Informative mods are almost always saved for their proper use.

The OP wrote in another journal entry, "I always browse at raw -1". I don't have an account, but I'm under the impression that for those who do, it's possible to change the "Threshold/Breakthrough" settings from the defaults, so that all posts are displayed without the need to adjust Threshold/Breakthrough each time one opens a new discussion page.
However, I have a feeling that archfeld knows this and is complaining about unfair moderation. I've seen that happen, but most often the moderation is justifiable. By the way, an earlier post by archfeld that had perhaps been unfairly moderated is now [soylentnews.org] at +2; Informative.
