America's new president gave an address to a joint session of Congress. The Los Angeles Times posted a full transcript of the speech (along with remarks from its staff that may require Javascript to view); Bloomberg uploaded a video of the event.

The New York Times called it "the most presidential speech Mr. Trump has ever given — delivered at precisely the moment he needed to project sobriety, seriousness of purpose and self-discipline."

You may choose to believe the lies. Fact is, O'Bummer directed his administration to leave illegals alone, UNLESS they were convicted of serious crimes.

I live in Illegal Alien country. There hasn't been a raid on any of the known illegal employers since early in Bush's administration. Don't tell me about some mythical "Deporter in Chief". It's utter bullshit.

When government cooks numbers, they can convince the gullible that unemployment is under 5%. If you've been paying attention, unemployment is over 20%, minimum.

But, you go ahead and believe whatever government tells you - especially when it's a liberal administration cooking the numbers. Whatever makes you feel good.

So your response to the widely reported facts and complaints by immigration advocates about obama is to dismiss them as liberal government lies. Who would have guessed that you would be the one to deny reality in favor of a conspiracy fantasy? You are one of the most grounded, well-informed people here on soylent!!!

Go back to my previous post. For fifty years, every president, and every congress has passed the buck. Libbies ain't happy, conservies ain't happy, moderates ain't happy, independents ain't happy, the illegal aliens ain't happy, NO ONE IS HAPPY!! Why? Because not one single president, and not one single congress has DONE THEIR DAMNED JOB IN THE PAST FIFTY YEARS!! They had Operation Wetback like a year of two before I was born, and since then NO ONE HAS HAD THE BALLS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE!

Now, when I say "every president", that includes O'Bummer, both of the bushmaster snakes, the blowjob president, and so on - ALL OF THEM.

Is that plain enough for you? No one in Washington has been doing the jobs for which they are paid. Immigration isn't that damned complicated. "No, we don't want you, but we'll accept that guy over yonder. Why? Well, it's really none of your business why, so don't even ask why. You're out, he's in. And, that hot chick getting off the airplane? She's in. Now get lost, Bubba, or we'll ship you home in a box."

You become unhinged when you blindly follow some ideology. Trump has already shown his true face, and the immigration bit is simply a ploy to funnel tons of taxpayer money into the hands of some private contractors. Many people have already stated that the wall will be ineffective, and even if it does it may well hurt our agricultural sector since they rely on cheap immigration labor. What will the farmers do if they have to hire real Americans and get held to real labor laws? They will shit. a. brick.

Trump has no balls, he is a coward pushing an agenda, and you apparently are falling 100% for his bullshit. The only reason it gets me upset is because we need more support to push back against this fascist regime. This isn't a godwin, this isn't rhetoric, Trump is a total fascist who simply hasn't gotten the complete control he desires. If you can't see this then I don't know what to tell you except WAKE UP!

"when you blindly follow some ideology"

          And, what ideology is that?

"stated that the wall will be ineffective, and even if it does it may well hurt our agricultural sector"

When, and how did the first minimum wage law come to be? And, how did it come about that some very specific classes of workers were exempted from the minimum wage laws? Can you spell "graft" and "corruption"? There was no reason to make exempted classes of workers from the minimum wage laws, other than graft and corruption. At that point in history, farmers and ranchers had a lot of clout in Washington, and they held out for free or cheap farm labor. Food handlers and waiting staff were exempted from the same law, for very much the same reasons. If the cheap labor suddenly dries up, those farmers and ranchers may be hurt a little bit, short term, but the economy will heal over time.

Or - do you believe in our hidden class system, in which certain classes of workers can never "get ahead"?

Blah blah blah. Trump is a fascist, blah blah blah. When I see fascist, I'll let you know. Until then, you are the one who sounds like an ideologist.
