Looks like Microsoft is preparing yet more helpful tech reps...

https://www.naturalnews.com/2024-02-12-microsoft-to-equip-2m-indians-with-ai-skills.html

Tech billionaire and globalist Bill Gates' Microsoft has announced plans to recruit up to two million workers from India who will be trained to use artificial intelligence.

According to Microsoft Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella, the company will equip two million Indians with AI skills by 2025 in an effort to generate more jobs in the nation of nearly 1.5 billion. (Related: Technocrats Gates and Altman admit current AI is the stupidest version of AGI but believe it can eventually "overcome polarization" – or in reality – censor views.)

"We are devoted to equip two million-plus people in India with AI skills, that is, really taking the workforce and making sure that they have the right skills in order to be able to be a part of this domain," said Nadella on Wednesday, Feb. 7, during a Microsoft CEO Connection event in Mumbai. "But it's not just the skills, it's even the jobs that they create."

The skilling program will focus on training individuals in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities – cities with 50,000 to 99,999 residents and 20,000 to 49,999 residents, respectively – as well as rural areas with below 20,000 residents in an effort to "unlock inclusive socio-economic progress," according to the company in a statement.

Tyler Perry Puts $800 Million Studio Expansion on Hold Because of OpenAI's Sora 16 comments

https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2024/02/i-just-dont-see-how-we-survive-tyler-perry-issues-hollywood-warning-over-ai-video-tech/

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Thursday, filmmaker Tyler Perry spoke about his concerns related to the impact of AI video synthesis on entertainment industry jobs. In particular, he revealed that he has suspended a planned $800 million expansion of his production studio after seeing what OpenAI's recently announced AI video generator Sora can do.

"I have been watching AI very closely," Perry said in the interview. "I was in the middle of, and have been planning for the last four years... an $800 million expansion at the studio, which would've increased the backlot a tremendous size—we were adding 12 more soundstages. All of that is currently and indefinitely on hold because of Sora and what I'm seeing. I had gotten word over the last year or so that this was coming, but I had no idea until I saw recently the demonstrations of what it's able to do. It's shocking to me."

[...] "It makes me worry so much about all of the people in the business," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "Because as I was looking at it, I immediately started thinking of everyone in the industry who would be affected by this, including actors and grip and electric and transportation and sound and editors, and looking at this, I'm thinking this will touch every corner of our industry."

You can read the full interview at The Hollywood Reporter

[...] Perry also looks beyond Hollywood and says that it's not just filmmaking that needs to be on alert, and he calls for government action to help retain human employment in the age of AI. "If you look at it across the world, how it's changing so quickly, I'm hoping that there's a whole government approach to help everyone be able to sustain."

The real title is not about AI or LLMs. It is that m$ will be equipping 2M poseurs to resell m$ products and try to shoehorn them into each and every situation they encounter. 2M shills will produce a hell of a lot of astroturf even if m$ doesn't pay them if the shills are somehow convinced that they can convert astroturfing into money on their own.

So "AI" is at this stage of the hype cycle... OK then.

Now I'm not a registered financial advisor, and I'm definitely not your registered financial advisor, but when the hype cycle for any technology gets to this stage, traditionally that means it's time to at least start researching short selling opportunities.

Its not looking good for a technology, if its hit this stage of the hype cycle so quickly. This tech looks a lot more like "3d TV" or "quadraphonic sound" than like "pr0n over the internet" level of success.

"Hype", indeed. Going *waaaayyyy* out on a limb here, but if you imagine India as a cultural monolith, it's a trailing adopter. A lot of developing-world products are brought to maturity by the developed world -- medical techniques and equipment, computing hardware, software infrastructure, electric vehicles -- then perfused over time into the general population, not in small part due to their somewhat tight import policies [reuters.com] to keep foreign products from overrunning their own home-grown businesses. If Microsoft wants to, they can try to:

      • surgically identify and poach 2E6 people to embrace learning something very new
      • which are going to be something of outliers in any culture
      • equip them with the hardware and software necessary
      • push them to acquire a rapidly-changing skill in a rapidly-evolving area
      • test their skills [soylentnews.org] at the end of the exercise
      • all within two years

Can they do it? As an initial exercise, can Microsoft first find and equip 2E6 people in India with *Microsoft Excel* skills and the hardware to run it on within two years? Maybe, who knows.

Why do Americans keep supporting Microsoft while Microsoft screws you so badly.

Why is Microsoft supporting India? Because they know linux is big in India and they don't like that. Just like in Germany, they'll do anything to stop linux.

    Stop using MS products.

    Just. stop.

Make Microsoft beg you instead of leading you by the balls.

We don't. It's called "government". They force us to pay taxes under threat of locking us in a cage like a dog so that they can give huge tax breaks to Microsoft so Microsoft can buy off politicians.

It's all mafia-style money laundering. Just look at what Biden is doing and what Haley wants to do in Ukraine. So you haven't bought Microsoft products at all? You don't use MS products at all? You don't support MS products at all? Then why change the conversation?

Golf clap: So you want "Peace in our time" by letting Putin have his way in Ukraine? How about Poland; Germany; France & GB? Where will you draw the line?

How about when missiles are hitting American cities? You'll then turn to your allies in Europe for help and HEY!, they won't be there!

Letting Hitler have his way in Europe worked SO well for Chamberlain. Chamberlain was so much like Trump. It took a real thinker like Churchill to come along to fight Hitler, just like it will take real thinkers like Haley and Biden and the intelligent people of America to act like Churchill.

Obviously it will take a better thinker than yourself to stop Putin.

Many years ago, when I got one of these scam phone calls and the guy said my computer had a virus, I said, "Which one?" He asked me how many I had. I said 9. What I didn't tell him was that seven of them were running Linux, two were running Solaris and at least three of them were non-x86 so couldn't run Windows. There was a pregnant silence followed by, "Oh!" Before it went any further I put the phone down.
