The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing has filed suit against gaming giant Activision Blizzard, alleging that they fostered a hostile and sexist work environment for female employees, who comprise about 20% of their workforce. From Bloomberg Law:

Video game giant Activision Blizzard Inc., maker of games including World of Warcraft and Diablo, fosters a "frat boy" culture in which female employees are subjected to constant sexual harassment, unequal pay, and retaliation, according to a lawsuit filed by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.

A two-year investigation by the state agency found that the company discriminated against female employees in terms and conditions of employment, including compensation, assignment, promotion, and termination. Company leadership consistently failed to take steps to prevent discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, the agency said.

[...] The agency seeks an injunction forcing compliance with workplace protections, as well as unpaid wages, pay adjustments, back pay, and lost wages and benefits for female employees.

"We value diversity and strive to foster a workplace that offers inclusivity for everyone. There is no place in our company or industry, or any industry, for sexual misconduct or harassment of any kind," a spokesperson for Activision Blizzard said in a statement. "We take every allegation seriously and investigate all claims. In cases related to misconduct, action was taken to address the issue."

[...] "The picture the DFEH paints is not the Blizzard workplace of today," the company said.

Some examples of the allegations include "cube crawls", where male employees would get drunk and harass female employees, delegating heavy workloads to women while paying them less, and even an incident where a female employee committed suicide after nude photos of her were passed around during a company holiday party.

The case is Calif. Dep't of Fair Emp. & Housing v. Activision Blizzard Inc., Cal. Super. Ct., No. 21stcv26571, 7/20/21. Further coverage of the story at The Verge, the BBC, and CNN.

I have not, in my 20 years in the field, met a woman who was equally skilled

You've heard that beauty is in the eye of the beholder? I suspect that maybe applies to your ability to evaluate the skills of your coworkers. Your claim would be more believable if you had limited the claim to skills and professions where upper body strength is actually important.

OK, so what jobs are there that don't require 'upper body strength' where women consistently excel over men, or even function at a level that is on par with men?
There are rare instances where a woman in the workplace does excellent work at or ever better than her male peers, but those occurrences are rare.

Guys like you are those sad white-knight cucks that still defend Elizabeth Holmes on social media, blindly believe her when she says "I'm innocent", and think that all fraud charges should be dropped against her, for no reason other than "she's-just-a-woman!"

How about you start with traditional "women's work". Nursing, secretarial, cooking/chef jobs just for starters. Small business management doesn't seem to succeed or fail based on gender. Realtors. Customer facing service industries. It appears that more and more women are succeeding as lawyers - and cops. There are even women judges, just look at the Supreme Court. The entertainment industry is filled with actresses, singers, comediennes, and whatever else you care to name. Women have excelled in mathematics for over a hundred years now, the best examples are the Enigma project and NASA using women to do their math.

I have to agree with another poster above: if you've never met a woman who can do some job better than you can, then you simply haven't met women.

If - let me stress that IF - you are a leading name in some field, you might get away with saying that no woman is better at your job than you are. I don't see any women outperforming Elon Musk at putting shit into space, for example. But, if you can make such a claim, then you'll have to admit that, like Elon Musk, you are one unique asshole.

On the contrary. People like you who can't meet women as equals have surely been cuckolded, again and again.

    >beauty is in the eye of the beholder
while level of technical skill and hours worked is not. there is a chance I can't evaluate skills well. there is a bigger chance that I usually work with some of the top level people in the field, and there are less women in the field. when you get the top 10% of 100 men, and the top 10% of 10 women, you end up with the woman in your top-tier team being below average for the team, because you have 10 men, and one woman, who are all above the minimum threshold to make that team.

And this applies to college as well. When you got a few guys reading raw hex from a piece of paper and knowing that the binary does, and most girls fumbling with the concept of asm templates, your average skill level for the women is less, given a certain minimum cutoff. On average for the whole group, it's probably the same.
