After a denial-of-service attack disrupted 444 school websites hosted by the Osaka Board of Education last November, police have now brought charges [rocketnews24.com] against a 16-year-old boy who admitted carrying out the attack.

Punishment for this first-of-a-kind cyber attack against a local government in Japan could include a maximum three-year prison sentence or 500,000 yen fine.
